Luk 3:2 Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. Luk 3:4 As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. Luk 3:4 as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet," The voice of one crying in the wilderness, 'Make ready the way of the Lord, Make His paths straight. Luk|3|4|ὡς γέγραπται ἐν βίβλῳ λόγων ἠσαΐου τοῦ προφήτου, φωνὴ βοῶντος ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ, ἑτοιμάσατε τὴν ὁδὸν κυρίου, εὐθείας ποιεῖτε τὰς τρίβους αὐτοῦ.
Luk 3:5 Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth; Luk 3:5 'Every ravine will be filled, And every mountain and hill will be brought low; The crooked will become straight, And the rough roads smooth; Luk|3|5|πᾶσα φάραγξ πληρωθήσεται καὶ πᾶν ὄρος καὶ βουνὸς ταπεινωθήσεται, καὶ ἔσται τὰ σκολιὰ εἰς εὐθείαν καὶ αἱ τραχεῖαι εἰς ὁδοὺς λείας·

Luk 3:7 Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Luk 3:7 So he began saying to the crowds who were going out to be baptized by him," You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Luk|3|7|ἔλεγεν οὗν τοῖς ἐκπορευομένοις ὄχλοις βαπτισθῆναι ὑπ᾽ αὐτοῦ, γεννήματα ἐχιδνῶν, τίς ὑπέδειξεν ὑμῖν φυγεῖν ἀπὸ τῆς μελλούσης ὀργῆς;
Luk 3:8 Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. Luk 3:8 Therefore bear fruits in keeping with repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham for our father, 'for I say to you that from these stones God is able to raise up children to Abraham. Luk 3:9 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Luk 3:9 Indeed the axe is already laid at the root of the trees; so every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire." Luk|3|9|ἤδη δὲ καὶ ἡ ἀξίνη πρὸς τὴν ῥίζαν τῶν δένδρων κεῖται· πᾶν οὗν δένδρον μὴ ποιοῦν καρπὸν καλὸν ἐκκόπτεται καὶ εἰς πῦρ βάλλεται.
Luk 3:10 And the people asked him, saying, What shall we do then? Luk 3:10 And the crowds were questioning him, saying," Then what shall we do?" Luk|3|10|καὶ ἐπηρώτων αὐτὸν οἱ ὄχλοι λέγοντες, τί οὗν ποιήσωμεν;
Luk 3:11 He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise. Luk 3:11 And he would answer and say to them," The man who has two tunics is to share with him who has none; and he who has food is to do likewise." Luk|3|11|ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς, ὁ ἔχων δύο χιτῶνας μεταδότω τῶ μὴ ἔχοντι, καὶ ὁ ἔχων βρώματα ὁμοίως ποιείτω.
Luk 3:12 Then came also publicans to be baptized, and said unto him, Master, what shall we do? Luk 3:12 And some tax collectors also came to be baptized, and they said to him," Teacher, what shall we do?" Luk|3|12|ἦλθον δὲ καὶ τελῶναι βαπτισθῆναι καὶ εἶπαν πρὸς αὐτόν, διδάσκαλε, τί ποιήσωμεν;
Luk 3:13 And he said unto them, Exact no more than that which is appointed you. Luk 3:13 And he said to them," Collect no more than what you have been ordered to." Luk|3|13|ὁ δὲ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς, μηδὲν πλέον παρὰ τὸ διατεταγμένον ὑμῖν πράσσετε.
Luk 3:14 And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages. Luk 3:14 Some soldiers were questioning him, saying," And what about us, what shall we do?" And he said to them," Do not take money from anyone by force, or accuse anyone falsely, and be content with your wages." Luk|3|14|ἐπηρώτων δὲ αὐτὸν καὶ στρατευόμενοι λέγοντες, τί ποιήσωμεν καὶ ἡμεῖς; καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, μηδένα διασείσητε μηδὲ συκοφαντήσητε, καὶ ἀρκεῖσθε τοῖς ὀψωνίοις ὑμῶν.
Luk 3:15 And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts of John, whether he were the Christ, or not; Luk 3:15 Now while the people were in a state of expectation and all were wondering in their hearts about John, as to whether he was the Christ, Luk|3|15|προσδοκῶντος δὲ τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ διαλογιζομένων πάντων ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις αὐτῶν περὶ τοῦ ἰωάννου, μήποτε αὐτὸς εἴη ὁ χριστός,
Luk 3:16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire: Luk 3:16 John answered and said to them all," As for me, I baptize you with water; but One is coming who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to untie the thong of His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. Luk|3|16|ἀπεκρίνατο λέγων πᾶσιν ὁ ἰωάννης, ἐγὼ μὲν ὕδατι βαπτίζω ὑμᾶς· ἔρχεται δὲ ὁ ἰσχυρότερός μου, οὖ οὐκ εἰμὶ ἱκανὸς λῦσαι τὸν ἱμάντα τῶν ὑποδημάτων αὐτοῦ· αὐτὸς ὑμᾶς βαπτίσει ἐν πνεύματι ἁγίῳ καὶ πυρί·
Luk 3:17 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable. Luk 3:17 His winnowing fork is in His hand to thoroughly clear His threshing floor, and to gather the wheat into His barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire." Luk|3|17|οὖ τὸ πτύον ἐν τῇ χειρὶ αὐτοῦ διακαθᾶραι τὴν ἅλωνα αὐτοῦ καὶ συναγαγεῖν τὸν σῖτον εἰς τὴν ἀποθήκην αὐτοῦ, τὸ δὲ ἄχυρον κατακαύσει πυρὶ ἀσβέστῳ.
Luk 3:18 And many other things in his exhortation preached he unto the people. Luk 3:18 So with many other exhortations he preached the gospel to the people. Luk|3|18|πολλὰ μὲν οὗν καὶ ἕτερα παρακαλῶν εὐηγγελίζετο τὸν λαόν·
Luk 3:19 But Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him for Herodias his brother Philip's wife, and for all the evils which Herod had done, Luk 3:19 But when Herod the tetrarch was reprimanded by him because of Herodias, his brother's wife, and because of all the wicked things which Herod had done, Luk|3|19|ὁ δὲ ἡρῴδης ὁ τετραάρχης, ἐλεγχόμενος ὑπ᾽ αὐτοῦ περὶ ἡρῳδιάδος τῆς γυναικὸς τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ αὐτοῦ καὶ περὶ πάντων ὧν ἐποίησεν πονηρῶν ὁ ἡρῴδης,
Luk 3:20 Added yet this above all, that he shut up John in prison. Luk 3:20 Herod also added this to them all: he locked John up in prison. Luk|3|20|προσέθηκεν καὶ τοῦτο ἐπὶ πᾶσιν [καὶ] κατέκλεισεν τὸν ἰωάννην ἐν φυλακῇ.
Luk 3:21 Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, Luk 3:21 Now when all the people were baptized, Jesus was also baptized, and while He was praying, heaven was opened, Luk|3|21|ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν τῶ βαπτισθῆναι ἅπαντα τὸν λαὸν καὶ ἰησοῦ βαπτισθέντος καὶ προσευχομένου ἀνεῳχθῆναι τὸν οὐρανὸν
Luk 3:22 And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. Luk 3:22 and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in bodily form like a dove, and a voice came out of heaven," You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased." Luk 3:23 And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli, Luk 3:23 When He began His ministry, Jesus Himself was about thirty years of age, being, as was supposed, the son of Joseph, the son of Eli, Luk|3|23|καὶ αὐτὸς ἦν ἰησοῦς ἀρχόμενος ὡσεὶ ἐτῶν τριάκοντα, ὢν υἱός, ὡς ἐνομίζετο, ἰωσὴφ τοῦ ἠλὶ

Luk 4:2 Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered. Luk 4:2 for forty days, being tempted by the devil. And He ate nothing during those days, and when they had ended, He became hungry. Luk|4|2|ἡμέρας τεσσεράκοντα πειραζόμενος ὑπὸ τοῦ διαβόλου. καὶ οὐκ ἔφαγεν οὐδὲν ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις, καὶ συντελεσθεισῶν αὐτῶν ἐπείνασεν.
Luk 4:3 And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. Luk 4:3 And the devil said to Him," If You are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread." Luk|4|3|εἶπεν δὲ αὐτῶ ὁ διάβολος, εἰ υἱὸς εἶ τοῦ θεοῦ, εἰπὲ τῶ λίθῳ τούτῳ ἵνα γένηται ἄρτος.
Luk 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. Luk 4:4 And Jesus answered him," It is written, 'Man shall not live on bread alone. '" Luk|4|4|καὶ ἀπεκρίθη πρὸς αὐτὸν ὁ ἰησοῦς, γέγραπται ὅτι οὐκ ἐπ᾽ ἄρτῳ μόνῳ ζήσεται ὁ ἄνθρωπος.
Luk 4:5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. Luk 4:5 And he led Him up and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. Luk|4|5|καὶ ἀναγαγὼν αὐτὸν ἔδειξεν αὐτῶ πάσας τὰς βασιλείας τῆς οἰκουμένης ἐν στιγμῇ χρόνου·
Luk 4:6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. Luk 4:6 And the devil said to Him," I will give You all this domain and its glory; for it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Luk|4|6|καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῶ ὁ διάβολος, σοὶ δώσω τὴν ἐξουσίαν ταύτην ἅπασαν καὶ τὴν δόξαν αὐτῶν, ὅτι ἐμοὶ παραδέδοται καὶ ᾧ ἐὰν θέλω δίδωμι αὐτήν·
Luk 4:7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. Luk 4:7 Therefore if You worship before me, it shall all be Yours." Luk|4|7|σὺ οὗν ἐὰν προσκυνήσῃς ἐνώπιον ἐμοῦ, ἔσται σοῦ πᾶσα.
Luk 4:8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Luk 4:8 Jesus answered him," It is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God and serve Him only. '" Luk|4|8|καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτῶ, γέγραπται, κύριον τὸν θεόν σου προσκυνήσεις καὶ αὐτῶ μόνῳ λατρεύσεις.
Luk 4:9 And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence: Luk 4:9 And he led Him to Jerusalem and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him," If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here; Luk|4|9|ἤγαγεν δὲ αὐτὸν εἰς ἰερουσαλὴμ καὶ ἔστησεν ἐπὶ τὸ πτερύγιον τοῦ ἱεροῦ, καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῶ, εἰ υἱὸς εἶ τοῦ θεοῦ, βάλε σεαυτὸν ἐντεῦθεν κάτω·
Luk 4:10 For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee: Luk 4:10 for it is written, 'He will command His angels concerning You to guard You, ' Luk|4|10|γέγραπται γὰρ ὅτι τοῖς ἀγγέλοις αὐτοῦ ἐντελεῖται περὶ σοῦ τοῦ διαφυλάξαι σε,
Luk 4:11 And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Luk 4:11 and, 'On their hands they will bear You up, So that You will not strike Your foot against a stone. '" Luk|4|11|καὶ ὅτι ἐπὶ χειρῶν ἀροῦσίν σε μήποτε προσκόψῃς πρὸς λίθον τὸν πόδα σου.

Luk 4:23 And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country. Luk 4:42 And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them. Luk 4:43 And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.
