Heard Bill Salus speak at the Worldview Conference in Bellevue, WA, and talked with him afterward about Ezekiel 38 and 39, we talked about details, and the questions surrounding a few other Old Testament prophecies that many assumed were fulfilled in the past... but if you read the details of those prophecies, they haven't been, and some of the things we assumed about Ezekiel 38 and 39, are not in place yet either, leading to the prophieces identified above.

A good example of this is Isaiah 17, many assume this was fulfilled, the reference is in Isaiah: Isa 36:1 Now in the fourteenth year of King Hezekiah, Sennacherib king of Assyria came up against all the fortified cities of Judah and seized them.

However, in Isaiah 17 it is clear Damascus is totally destroyed, ceasing to be a city. In 2021 it is mostly destroyed by Syrian uprisings related to "Arab Spring". But if you read the entire account of Sennacherib, you will find that after Hezekiah prayed, Sennacherib left, and was murdered by his own family, never destroying Damascus, or Jerusalem.

Isa 37:34 By the way that he came, by the same he will return, and he will not come to this city, 'declares the Lord.

Isa 37:35 'For I will defend this city to save it for My own sake and for My servant David's sake.'"

Isa 37:36 Then the angel of the Lord went out and struck 185,000 in the camp of the Assyrians; and when men arose early in the morning, behold, all of these were dead.

Isa 37:37 So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed and returned home and lived at Nineveh.

Isa 37:38 It came about as he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons killed him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Ararat. And Esarhaddon his son became king in his place.

Bill Salus has done an excellent job of laying out the most likely sequence of prophetic events concerning Israel.


A recent news article points out the concern Israel has about Iran's nuclear ambitions, with the change in the oval office, things are heating up.

Bill listed the "NOW" prophecies in his book "The NOW Prophecies", those before the Tribulation Period commences:

- Disaster in Iran - (Jeremiah 49:34-39)
- Destruction of Damacus - (Isaiah 17, Jeremiah 49:23-27)
- Toppling of Jordan - (Jeremiah 49:1-6; Zephaniah 2:8-10; Ezekiel 25:14)
- Terrorization of Egypt - (Isaiah 19:1-18)
- Final Arab-Israeli War - (Psalm 83)

- Decline of America (Ezekiel 38:13) (America is likely identified as the young lions of Tarshish)
- Expansion of Israel -  (Obadiah 1:19-20; Jeremiah 49:2 ; Zephaniah 2:9 ; Isaiah 19:18)
- VANISHING OF THE CHRISTIANS - (1 Corinthians 15:51-52 ; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18)    (see also 2 Thessalonians 2)

(my guess is that 2 Thessalonians 2 will take place prior to Ezekiel 38... the restrainer will be removed... 
and we (the "church", those trusting Jesus, regardless of fellowship association, will be departing to be with Jesus!)
