when was the message intended?  past, present or future?

WHY
why was the book written?
why did it need to be said?

HOW 
how was it written?   
how was it delivered?
how did we get it?
how was it preserved?
how did the book start?  end?

The art and science of interpretation is known as "hermeneutics". It is a CRITICAL element in accurate Bible Study. We must understand and ask the questions above. If we violate the "historical-grammatical" approach to interpretation we are not handling God’s Word correctly or wisely and will make doctrinal errors. Incorrect hermeneutics has lead to genocide. We must understand the history, the culture, and the language of the people involved in the books of the Bible. Reading the Bible should be no different than reading a novel or the newspaper. It is based on the author’s intent and context of the message.
