what was the main reason the book was written?
what was the topic?
what was the theme?
what was going on at that time?
what style of literature is it? 

WHERE
where was the book written?
what was the location that the book focused on?
where were the people living that it was written to?

WHEN
when was the book written?
when was the message intended?  past, present or future?

WHY
why was the book written?
why did it need to be said?

HOW 
how was it written?   
how was it delivered?
how did we get it?
how was it preserved?
how did the book start?  end?

The art and science of interpretation is known as "hermeneutics".  

It is a CRITICAL element in accurate Bible Study.   We must understand and ask the questions above.  

If we violate the "historical-grammatical" approach to interpretation we are not handling God’s Word correctly 
or wisely and will make doctrinal errors.  Incorrect hermeneutics has lead to genocide.

We must understand the history, the culture, and the language of the people involved in the books of the Bible.  

Reading the Bible should be no different than reading a novel or the newspaper.  
It is based on the author’s intent and context of the message.

 The purpose of this site is to provide detailed, accurate information from the Living Word of God.

The focus is on the Bible, in context, to understand the passage and how it relates to the rest of Scripture.
