Tue May 30 20:34:13 2006 From: Greg Fiorentino The window and 4-way flasher switches are fairly easy to restore to like-new performance. Tools required: a few small screwdrivers. Other: DeOxit or other corrosion remover/cleaner, Q-tips. Method: Remove switch from car, take to a well lit comfortable work surface. 4-way flasher: Pry out the bottom of the switch, clean all contacts, reassemble and replace. Window switch: Pry out the rocker switches CAREFULLY. There are 2 ball bearings and other loose pieces that will fall out and hide if you let them. Pull out the little brass rockers and clean all contacts. Replace brass rockers. The ball bearing goes in the valley of the brass rocker; it is pressed down by the spring in the top of the rocker switch. Reassemble and replace. They should be good for another 20 years.
