Mind you I rarely drive it, but > when I do I can sense the high CoG and lack of agility *** My main street vehicle is a Chevy Astro cargo van. I remember when I first bought it, the trip home... It scared the -at-#$# out of me, mainly because of the high CG. And the rocking couple because of the short wheelbase didn't help either. I literally crawled home on the slow lane. The feeling was like - you're standing on top of a tall wobbly ladder. Everything is fine as long as you move slowly and deliberately and keep your CG where it should be.... ....and then somebody way down there starts shaking the thing. Fight or flight shoots through your gut, it's downright physical. Now it's been five years and about 65,000 miles in the thing, and it just feels normal. But I still drive like an old man. Two things bug me about drivers nowadays: * Most everybody tailgates. I guess they know their SUVs are invulnerable. * Nobody stops at the stops. I mean, NOBODY. - Jerry Kaidor ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 7 Jan 2008 09:21:32 -0800 (PST) From: john Subject: Re: [db] Feel safe in that big pickup? "show me your papers" kind of thing... interesting that the democrats in the state are in control and yet recognize that this is a socialistic/ communistic concept and are falling on both sides of the issue... in the last week there have been three fatalities due to drunk drivers... is it the laws? the enforcement? or the judges that let these troubled people back out with a slap on the hand??? it's like the lottery... when it started here in the '80s all the funds were supposed to go to schools to relieve property tax... now it goes to the general funds and our property taxes are out of control... and they have gambling addiction problems and hotlines... drugs, alcohol and gambling, all thanks to the state... without a moral compass we will wander... and crash... getting off the soapbox now. :) ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- there's a solution for every problem; problem is can we afford the solution? - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 7 Jan 2008 12:34:08 -0800 (PST) From: john Subject: Re: [db] It's BAAAAAACK, John! or the reserve is unrealistic... 4500 buy it now is a bit absurd... john ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- there's a solution for every problem; problem is can we afford the solution? - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- On Mon, 7 Jan 2008, jasonbassett-at-juno.com wrote: # ebay id 160196503166 # # Apparently nobody was interested enough last time. # # J # ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 7 Jan 2008 13:54:37 -0800 (PST) From: john Subject: Re: [db] It's BAAAAAACK, John! did anyone find out: what this guy was thinking? what this guy expects? what his reserve is? what he did with the doors? and why he wants to do this again? :) ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- there's a solution for every problem; problem is can we afford the solution? - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- On Mon, 7 Jan 2008, jasonbassett-at-juno.com wrote: # ebay id 160196503166 # # Apparently nobody was interested enough last time. # # J # ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 8 Jan 2008 02:13:47 GMT From: "jasonbassett-at-juno.com" Subject: Re: [db] It's BAAAAAACK, John!
