Job 35:1 Elihu spake moreover, and said,

Job 35:1 Then Elihu continued and said,
|
Job 35:1 ὑπολαβὼν δὲ Ελιους λέγει
|
Job 35:2 Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more than God's?
|
Job 35:2 "Do you think this is according to justice? Do you say, 'My righteousness is more than God's'?
|
Job 35:2 τί τοῦτο ἡγήσω ἐν κρίσει σὺ τίς εἶ ὅτι εἶπας δίκαιός εἰμι ἔναντι κυρίου
|
Job 35:3 For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin?
|
Job 35:3 "For you say, 'What advantage will it be to You? What profit will I have, more than if I had sinned?'
|
Job 35:3 ἢ ἐρεῖς τί ποιήσω ἁμαρτών
|
Job 35:4 I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee.
|
Job 35:4 "I will answer you, And your friends with you.
|
Job 35:4 ἐγὼ σοὶ δώσω ἀπόκρισιν καὶ τοῖς τρισὶν φίλοις σου
|
Job 35:5 Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou.
|
Job 35:5 "Look at the heavens and see; And behold the clouds--they are higher than you.
|
Job 35:5 ἀνάβλεψον εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ ἰδέ κατάμαθε δὲ νέφη ὡς ὑψηλὰ ἀπὸ σοῦ
|
Job 35:6 If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him?
|
Job 35:6 "If you have sinned, what do you accomplish against Him? And if your transgressions are many, what do you do to Him?
|
Job 35:6 εἰ ἥμαρτες τί πράξεις εἰ δὲ καὶ πολλὰ ἠνόμησας τί δύνασαι ποιῆσαι
|
Job 35:7 If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand?
|
Job 35:7 "If you are righteous, what do you give to Him, Or what does He receive from your hand?
|
Job 35:7 ἐπεὶ δὲ οὖν δίκαιος εἶ τί δώσεις αὐτῷ ἢ τί ἐκ χειρός σου λήμψεται
|
Job 35:8 Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness may profit the son of man.
|
Job 35:8 "Your wickedness is for a man like yourself, And your righteousness is for a son of man.
|
Job 35:8 ἀνδρὶ τῷ ὁμοίῳ σου ἡ ἀσέβειά σου καὶ υἱῷ ἀνθρώπου ἡ δικαιοσύνη σου
|
Job 35:9 By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.
|
Job 35:9 "Because of the multitude of oppressions they cry out; They cry for help because of the arm of the mighty.
|
Job 35:9 ἀπὸ πλήθους συκοφαντούμενοι κεκράξονται βοήσονται ἀπὸ βραχίονος πολλῶν
|
Job 35:10 But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night;
|
Job 35:10 "But no one says, 'Where is God my Maker, Who gives songs in the night,
|
Job 35:10 καὶ οὐκ εἶπεν ποῦ ἐστιν ὁ θεὸς ὁ ποιήσας με ὁ κατατάσσων φυλακὰς νυκτερινάς
|
Job 35:11 Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?
|
Job 35:11 Who teaches us more than the beasts of the earth And makes us wiser than the birds of the heavens?'
|
Job 35:11 ὁ διορίζων με ἀπὸ τετραπόδων γῆς ἀπὸ δὲ πετεινῶν οὐρανοῦ
|
Job 35:12 There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men.
|
Job 35:12 "There they cry out, but He does not answer Because of the pride of evil men.
|
Job 35:12 ἐκεῖ κεκράξονται καὶ οὐ μὴ εἰσακούσῃ καὶ ἀπὸ ὕβρεως πονηρῶν
|
Job 35:13 Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.
|
Job 35:13 "Surely God will not listen to an empty cry, Nor will the Almighty regard it.
|
Job 35:13 ἄτοπα γὰρ οὐ βούλεται ὁ κύριος ἰδεῖν αὐτὸς γὰρ ὁ παντοκράτωρ ὁρατής ἐστιν
|
Job 35:14 Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him.
|
Job 35:14 "How much less when you say you do not behold Him, The case is before Him, and you must wait for Him!
|
Job 35:14 τῶν συντελούντων τὰ ἄνομα καὶ σώσει με κρίθητι δὲ ἐναντίον αὐτοῦ εἰ δύνασαι αἰνέσαι αὐτόν ὡς ἔστιν
|
Job 35:15 But now, because it is not so, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth it not in great extremity:
|
Job 35:15 "And now, because He has not visited in His anger, Nor has He acknowledged transgression well,
|
Job 35:15 καὶ νῦν ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν ἐπισκεπτόμενος ὀργὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἔγνω παραπτώματι σφόδρα
|
Job 35:16 Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge.
|
Job 35:16 So Job opens his mouth emptily; He multiplies words without knowledge."
|
Job 35:16 καὶ Ιωβ ματαίως ἀνοίγει τὸ στόμα αὐτοῦ ἐν ἀγνωσίᾳ ῥήματα βαρύνει
|
Job 36:1 Elihu also proceeded, and said,

Job 36:1 Then Elihu continued and said,
|
Job 36:1 προσθεὶς δὲ Ελιους ἔτι λέγει
|
Job 36:2 Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet to speak on God's behalf.
|
Job 36:2 "Wait for me a little, and I will show you That there is yet more to be said in God's behalf.
|
Job 36:2 μεῖνόν με μικρὸν ἔτι ἵνα διδάξω σε ἔτι γὰρ ἐν ἐμοί ἐστιν λέξις
|
Job 36:3 I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.
|
Job 36:3 "I will fetch my knowledge from afar, And I will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.
|
Job 36:3 ἀναλαβὼν τὴν ἐπιστήμην μου μακρὰν ἔργοις δέ μου δίκαια ἐρῶ
|
Job 36:4 For truly my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge is with thee.
|
Job 36:4 "For truly my words are not false; One who is perfect in knowledge is with you.
|
Job 36:4 ἐπ᾽ ἀληθείας καὶ οὐκ ἄδικα ῥήματα ἀδίκως συνίεις
|
Job 36:5 Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.
|
Job 36:5 "Behold, God is mighty but does not despise any; He is mighty in strength of understanding.
|
Job 36:5 γίγνωσκε δὲ ὅτι ὁ κύριος οὐ μὴ ἀποποιήσηται τὸν ἄκακον δυνατὸς ἰσχύι καρδίας
|
Job 36:6 He preserveth not the life of the wicked: but giveth right to the poor.
|
Job 36:6 "He does not keep the wicked alive, But gives justice to the afflicted.
|
Job 36:6 ἀσεβῆ οὐ μὴ ζωοποιήσει καὶ κρίμα πτωχῶν δώσει
|
Job 36:7 He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous: but with kings are they on the throne; yea, he doth establish them for ever, and they are exalted.
|
Job 36:7 "He does not withdraw His eyes from the righteous; But with kings on the throne He has seated them forever, and they are exalted.
|
Job 36:7 οὐκ ἀφελεῖ ἀπὸ δικαίου ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ καὶ μετὰ βασιλέων εἰς θρόνον καὶ καθιεῖ αὐτοὺς εἰς νεῖκος καὶ ὑψωθήσονται
|
Job 36:8 And if they be bound in fetters, and be holden in cords of affliction;
|
Job 36:8 "And if they are bound in fetters, And are caught in the cords of affliction,
|
Job 36:8 καὶ εἰ πεπεδημένοι ἐν χειροπέδαις συσχεθήσονται ἐν σχοινίοις πενίας
|
Job 36:9 Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions that they have exceeded.
|
Job 36:9 Then He declares to them their work And their transgressions, that they have magnified themselves.
|
Job 36:9 καὶ ἀναγγελεῖ αὐτοῖς τὰ ἔργα αὐτῶν καὶ τὰ παραπτώματα αὐτῶν ὅτι ἰσχύσουσιν
|
Job 36:10 He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.
|
Job 36:10 "He opens their ear to instruction, And commands that they return from evil.
|
Job 36:10 ἀλλὰ τοῦ δικαίου εἰσακούσεται καὶ εἶπεν ὅτι ἐπιστραφήσονται ἐξ ἀδικίας
|
Job 36:11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
|
Job 36:11 "If they hear and serve Him, They will end their days in prosperity And their years in pleasures.
|
Job 36:11 ἐὰν ἀκούσωσιν καὶ δουλεύσωσιν συντελέσουσιν τὰς ἡμέρας αὐτῶν ἐν ἀγαθοῖς καὶ τὰ ἔτη αὐτῶν ἐν εὐπρεπείαις
|
Job 36:12 But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.
|
Job 36:12 "But if they do not hear, they shall perish by the sword And they will die without knowledge.
|
Job 36:12 ἀσεβεῖς δὲ οὐ διασῴζει παρὰ τὸ μὴ βούλεσθαι εἰδέναι αὐτοὺς τὸν κύριον καὶ διότι νουθετούμενοι ἀνήκοοι ἦσαν
|
Job 36:13 But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: they cry not when he bindeth them.
|
Job 36:13 "But the godless in heart lay up anger; They do not cry for help when He binds them.
|
Job 36:13 καὶ ὑποκριταὶ καρδίᾳ τάξουσιν θυμόν οὐ βοήσονται ὅτι ἔδησεν αὐτούς
|
Job 36:14 They die in youth, and their life is among the unclean.
|
Job 36:14 "They die in youth, And their life perishes among the cult prostitutes.
|
Job 36:14 ἀποθάνοι τοίνυν ἐν νεότητι ἡ ψυχὴ αὐτῶν ἡ δὲ ζωὴ αὐτῶν τιτρωσκομένη ὑπὸ ἀγγέλων
|
Job 36:15 He delivereth the poor in his affliction, and openeth their ears in oppression.
|
Job 36:15 "He delivers the afflicted in their affliction, And opens their ear in time of oppression.
|
Job 36:15 ἀνθ᾽ ὧν ἔθλιψαν ἀσθενῆ καὶ ἀδύνατον κρίμα δὲ πραέων ἐκθήσει
|
Job 36:16 Even so would he have removed thee out of the strait into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and that which should be set on thy table should be full of fatness.
|
Job 36:16 "Then indeed, He enticed you from the mouth of distress, Instead of it, a broad place with no constraint; And that which was set on your table was full of fatness.
|
Job 36:16 καὶ προσέτι ἠπάτησέν σε ἐκ στόματος ἐχθροῦ ἄβυσσος κατάχυσις ὑποκάτω αὐτῆς καὶ κατέβη τράπεζά σου πλήρης πιότητος
|
Job 36:17 But thou hast fulfilled the judgment of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold on thee.
|
Job 36:17 "But you were full of judgment on the wicked; Judgment and justice take hold of you.
|
Job 36:17 οὐχ ὑστερήσει δὲ ἀπὸ δικαίων κρίμα
|
Job 36:18 Because there is wrath, beware lest he take thee away with his stroke: then a great ransom cannot deliver thee.
|
Job 36:18 "Beware that wrath does not entice you to scoffing; And do not let the greatness of the ransom turn you aside.
|
Job 36:18 θυμὸς δὲ ἐπ᾽ ἀσεβεῖς ἔσται δι᾽ ἀσέβειαν δώρων ὧν ἐδέχοντο ἐπ᾽ ἀδικίαις
|
Job 36:19 Will he esteem thy riches? no, not gold, nor all the forces of strength.
|
Job 36:19 "Will your riches keep you from distress, Or all the forces of your strength?
|
Job 36:19 μή σε ἐκκλινάτω ἑκὼν ὁ νοῦς δεήσεως ἐν ἀνάγκῃ ὄντων ἀδυνάτων καὶ πάντας τοὺς κραταιοῦντας ἰσχύν
|
Job 36:20 Desire not the night, when people are cut off in their place.
|
Job 36:20 "Do not long for the night, When people vanish in their place.
|
Job 36:20 μὴ ἐξελκύσῃς τὴν νύκτα τοῦ ἀναβῆναι λαοὺς ἀντ᾽ αὐτῶν
|
Job 36:21 Take heed, regard not iniquity: for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.
|
Job 36:21 "Be careful, do not turn to evil, For you have preferred this to affliction.
|
Job 36:21 ἀλλὰ φύλαξαι μὴ πράξῃς ἄτοπα ἐπὶ τοῦτον γὰρ ἐξείλω ἀπὸ πτωχείας
|
Job 36:22 Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him?
|
Job 36:22 "Behold, God is exalted in His power; Who is a teacher like Him?
|
Job 36:22 ἰδοὺ ὁ ἰσχυρὸς κραταιώσει ἐν ἰσχύι αὐτοῦ τίς γάρ ἐστιν κατ᾽ αὐτὸν δυνάστης
|
Job 36:23 Who hath enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity?
|
Job 36:23 "Who has appointed Him His way, And who has said, 'You have done wrong'?
|
Job 36:23 τίς δέ ἐστιν ὁ ἐτάζων αὐτοῦ τὰ ἔργα ἢ τίς ὁ εἴπας ἔπραξεν ἄδικα
|
Job 36:24 Remember that thou magnify his work, which men behold.
|
Job 36:24 "Remember that you should exalt His work, Of which men have sung.
|
Job 36:24 μνήσθητι ὅτι μεγάλα ἐστὶν αὐτοῦ τὰ ἔργα ὧν ἦρξαν ἄνδρες
|
Job 36:25 Every man may see it; man may behold it afar off.
|
Job 36:25 "All men have seen it; Man beholds from afar.
|
Job 36:25 πᾶς ἄνθρωπος εἶδεν ἐν ἑαυτῷ ὅσοι τιτρωσκόμενοί εἰσιν βροτοί
|
Job 36:26 Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.
|
Job 36:26 "Behold, God is exalted, and we do not know Him; The number of His years is unsearchable.
|
Job 36:26 ἰδοὺ ὁ ἰσχυρὸς πολύς καὶ οὐ γνωσόμεθα ἀριθμὸς ἐτῶν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀπέραντος
|
Job 36 27 For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof
|
Job 36:27 "For He draws up the drops of water, They distill rain from the mist,
|
Job 36:27 ἀριθμηταὶ δὲ αὐτῷ σταγόνες ὑετοῦ καὶ ἐπιχυθήσονται ὑετῷ εἰς νεφέλην
|
Job 36:28 Which the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly.
|
Job 36:28 Which the clouds pour down, They drip upon man abundantly.
|
Job 36:28 ῥυήσονται παλαιώματα ἐσκίασεν δὲ νέφη ἐπὶ ἀμυθήτων βροτῶν ~ ὥραν ἔθετο κτήνεσιν οἴδασιν δὲ κοίτης τάξιν ~ ἐπὶ τούτοις πᾶσιν οὐκ ἐξίσταταί σου ἡ διάνοια οὐδὲ διαλλάσσεταί σου ἡ καρδία ἀπὸ σώματος
|
Job 36:29 Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle?
|
Job 36:29 "Can anyone understand the spreading of the clouds, The thundering of His pavilion?
|
Job 36:29 καὶ ἐὰν συνῇ ἀπεκτάσεις νεφέλης ἰσότητα σκηνῆς αὐτοῦ
|
Job 36:30 Behold, he spreadeth his light upon it, and covereth the bottom of the sea.
|
Job 36:30 "Behold, He spreads His lightning about Him, And He covers the depths of the sea.
|
Job 36:30 ἰδοὺ ἐκτείνει ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν ηδω καὶ ῥιζώματα τῆς θαλάσσης ἐκάλυψεν
|
Job 36:31 For by them judgeth he the people; he giveth meat in abundance.
|
Job 36:31 "For by these He judges peoples; He gives food in abundance.
|
Job 36:31 ἐν γὰρ αὐτοῖς κρινεῖ λαούς δώσει τροφὴν τῷ ἰσχύοντι
|
Job 36:32 With clouds he covereth the light; and commandeth it not to shine by the cloud that cometh betwixt.
|
Job 36:32 "He covers His hands with the lightning, And commands it to strike the mark.
|
Job 36:32 ἐπὶ χειρῶν ἐκάλυψεν φῶς καὶ ἐνετείλατο περὶ αὐτῆς ἐν ἀπαντῶντι
|
Job 36:33 The noise thereof sheweth concerning it, the cattle also concerning the vapour.
|
Job 36:33 "Its noise declares His presence; The cattle also, concerning what is coming up.
|
Job 36:33 ἀναγγελεῖ περὶ αὐτοῦ φίλον αὐτοῦ κτῆσις καὶ περὶ ἀδικίας
|
Job 37:1 At this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of his place.
|
Job 37:1 "At this also my heart trembles, And leaps from its place.
|
Job 37:1 καὶ ταύτης ἐταράχθη ἡ καρδία μου καὶ ἀπερρύη ἐκ τοῦ τόπου αὐτῆς
|
Job 37:2 Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth.
|
Job 37:2 "Listen closely to the thunder of His voice, And the rumbling that goes out from His mouth.
|
Job 37:2 ἄκουε ἀκοὴν ἐν ὀργῇ θυμοῦ κυρίου καὶ μελέτη ἐκ στόματος αὐτοῦ ἐξελεύσεται
|
Job 37:3 He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.
|
Job 37:3 "Under the whole heaven He lets it loose, And His lightning to the ends of the earth.
|
Job 37:3 ὑποκάτω παντὸς τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἀρχὴ αὐτοῦ καὶ τὸ φῶς αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ πτερύγων τῆς γῆς
|
Job 37:4 After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.
|
Job 37:4 "After it, a voice roars; He thunders with His majestic voice, And He does not restrain the lightnings when His voice is heard.
|
Job 37:4 ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ βοήσεται φωνή βροντήσει ἐν φωνῇ ὕβρεως αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἀνταλλάξει αὐτούς ὅτι ἀκούσει φωνὴν αὐτοῦ
|
Job 37:5 God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.
|
Job 37:5 "God thunders with His voice wondrously, Doing great things which we cannot comprehend.
|
Job 37:5 βροντήσει ὁ ἰσχυρὸς ἐν φωνῇ αὐτοῦ θαυμάσια ἐποίησεν γὰρ μεγάλα ἃ οὐκ ᾔδειμεν
|
Job 37:6 For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.
|
Job 37:6 "For to the snow He says, 'Fall on the earth, 'And to the downpour and the rain, 'Be strong.'
|
Job 37:6 συντάσσων χιόνι γίνου ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ χειμὼν ὑετός καὶ χειμὼν ὑετῶν δυναστείας αὐτοῦ
|
Job 37:7 He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.
|
Job 37:7 "He seals the hand of every man, That all men may know His work.
|
Job 37:7 ἐν χειρὶ παντὸς ἀνθρώπου κατασφραγίζει ἵνα γνῷ πᾶς ἄνθρωπος τὴν ἑαυτοῦ ἀσθένειαν
|
Job 37:8 Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.
|
Job 37:8 "Then the beast goes into its lair And remains in its den.
|
Job 37:8 εἰσῆλθεν δὲ θηρία ὑπὸ σκέπην ἡσύχασαν δὲ ἐπὶ κοίτης
|
Job 37:9 Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.
|
Job 37:9 "Out of the south comes the storm, And out of the north the cold.
|
Job 37:9 ἐκ ταμιείων ἐπέρχονται δῖναι ἀπὸ δὲ ἀκρωτηρίων ψῦχος
|
Job 37:10 By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.
|
Job 37:10 "From the breath of God ice is made, And the expanse of the waters is frozen.
|
Job 37:10 καὶ ἀπὸ πνοῆς ἰσχυροῦ δώσει πάγος οἰακίζει δὲ τὸ ὕδωρ ὡς ἐὰν βούληται
|
Job 37 11 Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud
|
Job 37:11 "Also with moisture He loads the thick cloud; He disperses the cloud of His lightning.
|
Job 37:11 καὶ ἐκλεκτὸν καταπλάσσει νεφέλη διασκορπιεῖ νέφος φῶς αὐτοῦ
|
Job 37:12 And it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth.
|
Job 37:12 "It changes direction, turning around by His guidance, That it may do whatever He commands it On the face of the inhabited earth.
|
Job 37:12 καὶ αὐτὸς κυκλώματα διαστρέψει ἐν θεεβουλαθω εἰς ἔργα αὐτῶν πάντα ὅσα ἂν ἐντείληται αὐτοῖς ταῦτα συντέτακται παρ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς

Job 37:13 He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.
|
Job 37:13 "Whether for correction, or for His world, Or for lovingkindness, He causes it to happen.
|
Job 37:13 ἐὰν εἰς παιδείαν ἐὰν εἰς τὴν γῆν αὐτοῦ ἐὰν εἰς ἔλεος εὑρήσει αὐτόν
|
Job 37:14 Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.
|
Job 37:14 "Listen to this, O Job, Stand and consider the wonders of God.
|
Job 37:14 ἐνωτίζου ταῦτα Ιωβ στῆθι νουθετοῦ δύναμιν κυρίου
|
Job 37:15 Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?
|
Job 37:15 "Do you know how God establishes them, And makes the lightning of His cloud to shine?
|
Job 37:15 οἴδαμεν ὅτι ὁ θεὸς ἔθετο ἔργα αὐτοῦ φῶς ποιήσας ἐκ σκότους
|
Job 37:16 Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?
|
Job 37:16 "Do you know about the layers of the thick clouds, The wonders of one perfect in knowledge,
|
Job 37:16 ἐπίσταται δὲ διάκρισιν νεφῶν ἐξαίσια δὲ πτώματα πονηρῶν
|
Job 37:17 How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?
|
Job 37:17 You whose garments are hot, When the land is still because of the south wind?
|
Job 37:17 σοῦ δὲ ἡ στολὴ θερμή ἡσυχάζεται δὲ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς
|
Job 37:18 Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?

Job 37:18 "Can you, with Him, spread out the skies, Strong as a molten mirror?

Job 37:18 στερεώσεις μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ εἰς παλαιώματα ἰσχυραὶ ὡς ὅρασις ἐπιχύσεως

Job 37:19 Teach us what we shall say unto him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness.

Job 37:20 Shall it be told him that I speak? if a man speak, surely he shall be swallowed up.

Job 37:20 μὴ βίβλος ἢ γραμματεύς μοι παρέστηκεν ἵνα ἄνθρωπον ἑστηκὼς κατασιωπήσω

Job 37:21 And now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds: but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them.
|
Job 37:21 "Now men do not see the light which is bright in the skies; But the wind has passed and cleared them.
|
Job 37:21 πᾶσιν δ᾽ οὐχ ὁρατὸν τὸ φῶς τηλαυγές ἐστιν ἐν τοῖς παλαιώμασιν ὥσπερ τὸ παρ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ νεφῶν
|
Job 37:22 Fair weather cometh out of the north: with God is terrible majesty.
|
Job 37:22 "Out of the north comes golden splendor; Around God is awesome majesty.

Job 37:22 ἀπὸ βορρᾶ νέφη χρυσαυγοῦντα ἐπὶ τούτοις μεγάλη ἡ δόξα καὶ τιμὴ παντοκράτορος

Job 37 23 Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice he will not afflict.

Job 37:23 "The Almighty--we cannot find Him; He is exalted in power And He will not do violence to justice and abundant righteousness.

Job 37:23 καὶ οὐχ εὑρίσκομεν ἄλλον ὅμοιον τῇ ἰσχύι αὐτοῦ ὁ τὰ δίκαια κρίνων οὐκ οἴει ἐπακούειν αὐτόν

Job 37:24 Men do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.

Job 38:3 Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.

Job 38:3 ζῶσαι ὥσπερ ἀνὴρ τὴν ὀσφύν σου ἐρωτήσω δέ σε σὺ δέ μοι ἀποκρίθητι

Job 38:4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.

Job 38:5 Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?
|

Job 38:5 τίς ἔθετο τὰ μέτρα αὐτῆς εἰ οἶδας ἢ τίς ὁ ἐπαγαγὼν σπαρτίον ἐπ᾽ αὐτῆς

Job 38:6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;

Job 38:6 ἐπὶ τίνος οἱ κρίκοι αὐτῆς πεπήγασιν τίς δέ ἐστιν ὁ βαλὼν λίθον γωνιαῖον ἐπ᾽ αὐτῆς
|

Job 38:12 Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place;

Job 38:16 Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or hast thou walked in the search of the depth?

Job 38:17 Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?

Job 38:18 Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all.

Job 38:18 νενουθέτησαι δὲ τὸ εὖρος τῆς ὑπ᾽ οὐρανόν ἀνάγγειλον δή μοι πόση τίς ἐστιν

Job 38:19 Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof,

Job 38:20 That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest know the paths to the house thereof?

Job 38:21 Knowest thou it, because thou wast then born? or because the number of thy days is great?

Job 38:22 "Have you entered the storehouses of the snow, Or have you seen the storehouses of the hail,

Job 38:22 ἦλθες δὲ ἐπὶ θησαυροὺς χιόνος θησαυροὺς δὲ χαλάζης ἑόρακας

Job 38:23 Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?

Job 38:24 πόθεν δὲ ἐκπορεύεται πάχνη ἢ διασκεδάννυται νότος εἰς τὴν ὑπ᾽ οὐρανόν

Job 38:25 Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder;
|
Job 38:25 "Who has cleft a channel for the flood, Or a way for the thunderbolt,
|
Job 38:25 τίς δὲ ἡτοίμασεν ὑετῷ λάβρῳ ῥύσιν ὁδὸν δὲ κυδοιμῶν
|
Job 38:26 To cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness, wherein there is no man;

Job 38:26 To bring rain on a land without people, On a desert without a man in it,
|
Job 38:26 τοῦ ὑετίσαι ἐπὶ γῆν οὗ οὐκ ἀνήρ ἔρημον οὗ οὐχ ὑπάρχει ἄνθρωπος ἐν αὐτῇ

Job 38:27 To satisfy the desolate and waste ground; and to cause the bud of the tender herb to spring forth?

Job 38:29 ἐκ γαστρὸς δὲ τίνος ἐκπορεύεται ὁ κρύσταλλος πάχνην δὲ ἐν οὐρανῷ τίς τέτοκεν

Job 38:30 The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.

Job 38:30 "Water becomes hard like stone, And the surface of the deep is imprisoned.

Job 38:30 ἣ καταβαίνει ὥσπερ ὕδωρ ῥέον πρόσωπον δὲ ἀβύσσου τίς ἔπηξεν

Job 38:31 Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?

Job 38:32 Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?

Job 38:32 "Can you lead forth a constellation in its season, And guide the Bear with her satellites?
|
Job 38:32 ἦ διανοίξεις μαζουρωθ ἐν καιρῷ αὐτοῦ καὶ Ἕσπερον ἐπὶ κόμης αὐτοῦ ἄξεις αὐτά
|
Job 38:33 Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?
|
Job 38:33 "Do you know the ordinances of the heavens, Or fix their rule over the earth?
|
Job 38:33 ἐπίστασαι δὲ τροπὰς οὐρανοῦ ἢ τὰ ὑπ᾽ οὐρανὸν ὁμοθυμαδὸν γινόμενα
|
Job 38:34 Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover thee?
|
Job 38:34 "Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, So that an abundance of water will cover you?
|
Job 38:34 καλέσεις δὲ νέφος φωνῇ καὶ τρόμῳ ὕδατος λάβρῳ ὑπακούσεταί σου

Job 38:35 Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go and say unto thee, Here we are?
|
Job 38:35 "Can you send forth lightnings that they may go And say to you, 'Here we are'?

Job 38:35 ἀποστελεῖς δὲ κεραυνοὺς καὶ πορεύσονται ἐροῦσιν δέ σοι τί ἐστιν

Job 38:36 Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to the heart?

Job 38:36 "Who has put wisdom in the innermost being Or given understanding to the mind?
|
Job 38:36 τίς δὲ ἔδωκεν γυναιξὶν ὑφάσματος σοφίαν ἢ ποικιλτικὴν ἐπιστήμην
|
Job 38:37 Who can number the clouds in wisdom? or who can stay the bottles of heaven,
|
Job 38:37 "Who can count the clouds by wisdom, Or tip the water jars of the heavens,
|
Job 38:37 τίς δὲ ὁ ἀριθμῶν νέφη σοφίᾳ οὐρανὸν δὲ εἰς γῆν ἔκλινεν

Job 38:38 When the dust groweth into hardness, and the clods cleave fast together?

Job 38:40 δεδοίκασιν γὰρ ἐν κοίταις αὐτῶν κάθηνται δὲ ἐν ὕλαις ἐνεδρεύοντες

Job 38:41 Who provideth for the raven his food? when his young ones cry unto God, they wander for lack of meat.

Job 38:41 "Who prepares for the raven its nourishment When its young cry to God And wander about without food?

Job 38:41 τίς δὲ ἡτοίμασεν κόρακι βοράν νεοσσοὶ γὰρ αὐτοῦ πρὸς κύριον κεκράγασιν πλανώμενοι τὰ σῖτα ζητοῦντες
