SS 5:1 I am come into my garden, my sister, my spouse: I have gathered my myrrh with my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk: eat, O friends; drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved. (kjv) Sos 5:1 "I have come into my garden, my sister, my bride; I have gathered my myrrh along with my balsam. I have eaten my honeycomb and my honey; I have drunk my wine and my milk. Eat, friends; Drink and imbibe deeply, O lovers." Sol|5|1|εἰσῆλθον εἰς κῆπόν μου ἀδελφή μου νύμφη ἐτρύγησα σμύρναν μου μετὰ ἀρωμάτων μου ἔφαγον ἄρτον μου μετὰ μέλιτός μου ἔπιον οἶνόν μου μετὰ γάλακτός μου φάγετε πλησίοι καὶ πίετε καὶ μεθύσθητε ἀδελφοί
SS 5:2 I sleep, but my heart waketh: it is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night. (kjv) Sos 5:2 "I was asleep but my heart was awake. A voice! My beloved was knocking: 'Open to me, my sister, my darling, My dove, my perfect one! For my head is drenched with dew, My locks with the damp of the night. SS 5:3 I have put off my coat; how shall I put it on? I have washed my feet; how shall I defile them? (kjv) Sos 5:3 "I have taken off my dress, How can I put it on again? SS 5:5 I rose up to open to my beloved; and my hands dropped with myrrh, and my fingers with sweet smelling myrrh, upon the handles of the lock. (kjv) Sos 5:5 "I arose to open to my beloved; And my hands dripped with myrrh, And my fingers with liquid myrrh, On the handles of the bolt. SS 5:6 I opened to my beloved; but my beloved had withdrawn himself, and was gone: my soul failed when he spake: I sought him, but I could not find him; I called him, but he gave me no answer. (kjv) Sos 5:6 "I opened to my beloved, But my beloved had turned away and had gone! My heart went out to him as he spoke. I searched for him but I did not find him; I called him but he did not answer me. SS 5:7 The watchmen that went about the city found me, they smote me, they wounded me; the keepers of the walls took away my veil from me. (kjv) Sos 5:7 "The watchmen who make the rounds in the city found me, They struck me and wounded me; The guardsmen of the walls took away my shawl from me. SS 5:8 I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, if ye find my beloved, that ye tell him, that I am sick of love. (kjv) Sos 5:8 "I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, If you find my beloved, As to what you will tell him: For I am lovesick." SS 5:9 What is thy beloved more than another beloved, O thou fairest among women? what is thy beloved more than another beloved, that thou dost so charge us? SS 5:12 His eyes are as the eyes of doves by the rivers of waters, washed with milk, and fitly set. SS 5:13 His cheeks are as a bed of spices, as sweet flowers: his lips like lilies, dropping sweet smelling myrrh. SS 5:14 His hands are as gold rings set with the beryl: his belly is as bright ivory overlaid with sapphires. SS 5:15 His legs are as pillars of marble, set upon sockets of fine gold: his countenance is as Lebanon, excellent as the cedars. SS 5:16 His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.(kjv) Sos 5:16 "His mouth is full of sweetness. SS 6:1 Whither is thy beloved gone, O thou fairest among women? whither is thy beloved turned aside? that we may seek him with thee. SS 6:2 My beloved is gone down into his garden, to the beds of spices, to feed in the gardens, and to gather lilies. SS 6:4 Thou art beautiful, O my love, as Tirzah, comely as Jerusalem, terrible as an army with banners. SS 6:5 Turn away thine eyes from me, for they have overcome me: thy hair is as a flock of goats that appear from Gilead. (kjv) Sos 6:5 "Turn your eyes away from me, For they have confused me; Your hair is like a flock of goats That have descended from Gilead. SS 6:6 Thy teeth are as a flock of sheep which go up from the washing, whereof every one beareth twins, and there is not one barren among them. (kjv) Sos 6:6 "Your teeth are like a flock of ewes Which have come up from their washing, All of which bear twins, And not one among them has lost her young. SS 6:7 As a piece of a pomegranate are thy temples within thy locks. (kjv) Sos 6:7 "Your temples are like a slice of a pomegranate Behind your veil. Sol|6|7|ὡς σπαρτίον τὸ κόκκινον χείλη σου καὶ ἡ λαλιά σου ὡραία ὡς λέπυρον τῆς ῥόας μῆλόν σου ἐκτὸς τῆς σιωπήσεώς σου
SS 6:8 There are threescore queens, and fourscore concubines, and virgins without number. (kjv) Sos 6:8 "There are sixty queens and eighty concubines, And maidens without number; Sol|6|8|ἑξήκοντά εἰσιν βασίλισσαι καὶ ὀγδοήκοντα παλλακαί καὶ νεάνιδες ὧν οὐκ ἔστιν ἀριθμός
SS 6:9 My dove, my undefiled is but one; she is the only one of her mother, she is the choice one of her that bare her. The daughters saw her, and blessed her; yea, the queens and the concubines, and they praised her. (kjv) Sos 6:9 But my dove, my perfect one, is unique: She is her mother's only daughter; She is the pure child of the one who bore her. SS 6:10 Who is she that looketh forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners? (kjv) Sos 6:10 'Who is this that grows like the dawn, As beautiful as the full moon, As pure as the sun, As awesome as an army with banners? SS 6:11 I went down into the garden of nuts to see the fruits of the valley, and to see whether the vine flourished and the pomegranates budded. (kjv) Sos 6:11 "I went down to the orchard of nut trees To see the blossoms of the valley, To see whether the vine had budded Or the pomegranates had bloomed. SS 6:13 Return, return, O Shulamite; return, return, that we may look upon thee. What will ye see in the Shulamite? As it were the company of two armies.(kjv) Sos 6:13 "Come back, come back, O Shulammite; Come back, come back, that we may gaze at you!"" Why should you gaze at the Shulammite, As at the dance of the two companies? SS 7:1 How beautiful are thy feet with shoes, O prince's daughter! the joints of thy thighs are like jewels, the work of the hands of a cunning workman. (kjv) Sos 7:1 "How beautiful are your feet in sandals, O prince's daughter! The curves of your hips are like jewels, The work of the hands of an artist. SS 7:2 Thy navel is like a round goblet, which wanteth not liquor: thy belly is like an heap of wheat set about with lilies. (kjv) Sos 7:2 "Your navel is like a round goblet Which never lacks mixed wine; Your belly is like a heap of wheat Fenced about with lilies. SS 7:3 Thy two breasts are like two young roes that are twins. (kjv) Sos 7:3 "Your two breasts are like two fawns, Twins of a gazelle. Sol|7|4|δύο μαστοί σου ὡς δύο νεβροὶ δίδυμοι δορκάδος
SS 7:4 Thy neck is as a tower of ivory; thine eyes like the fishpools in Heshbon, by the gate of Bathrabbim: thy nose is as the tower of Lebanon which looketh toward Damascus. (kjv) Sos 7:4 "Your neck is like a tower of ivory, Your eyes like the pools in Heshbon By the gate of Bath-rabbim; Your nose is like the tower of Lebanon, Which faces toward Damascus. SS 7:5 Thine head upon thee is like Carmel, and the hair of thine head like purple; the king is held in the galleries. (kjv) Sos 7:5 "Your head crowns you like Carmel, And the flowing locks of your head are like purple threads; The king is captivated by your tresses. SS 7:6 How fair and how pleasant art thou, O love, for delights! (kjv) Sos 7:6 "How beautiful and how delightful you are, My love, with all your charms! Sol|7|7|τί ὡραιώθης καὶ τί ἡδύνθης ἀγάπη ἐν τρυφαῖς σου
SS 7:7 This thy stature is like to a palm tree, and thy breasts to clusters of grapes. (kjv) Sos 7:7 "Your stature is like a palm tree, And your breasts are like its clusters. Sol|7|8|τοῦτο μέγεθός σου ὡμοιώθη τῷ φοίνικι καὶ οἱ μαστοί σου τοῖς βότρυσιν
SS 7:8 I said, I will go up to the palm tree, I will take hold of the boughs thereof: now also thy breasts shall be as clusters of the vine, and the smell of thy nose like apples; (kjv) Sos 7:8 "I said, 'I will climb the palm tree, I will take hold of its fruit stalks. 'Oh, may your breasts be like clusters of the vine, And the fragrance of your breath like apples, Sol|7|9|εἶπα ἀναβήσομαι ἐν τῷ φοίνικι κρατήσω τῶν ὕψεων αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔσονται δὴ μαστοί σου ὡς βότρυες τῆς ἀμπέλου καὶ ὀσμὴ ῥινός σου ὡς μῆλα
SS 7:9 And the roof of thy mouth like the best wine for my beloved, that goeth down sweetly, causing the lips of those that are asleep to speak. (kjv) Sos 7:9 And your mouth like the best wine!"" It goes down smoothly for my beloved, Flowing gently through the lips of those who fall asleep. SS 7:10 I am my beloved's, and his desire is toward me. (kjv) Sos 7:10 "I am my beloved's, And his desire is for me. Sol|7|11|ἐγὼ τῷ ἀδελφιδῷ μου καὶ ἐπ᾽ ἐμὲ ἡ ἐπιστροφὴ αὐτοῦ
SS 7:11 Come, my beloved, let us go forth into the field; let us lodge in the villages. (kjv) Sos 7:11 "Come, my beloved, let us go out into the country, Let us spend the night in the villages. Sol|7|12|ἐλθέ ἀδελφιδέ μου ἐξέλθωμεν εἰς ἀγρόν αὐλισθῶμεν ἐν κώμαις
SS 7:12 Let us get up early to the vineyards; let us see if the vine flourish, whether the tender grape appear, and the pomegranates bud forth: there will I give thee my loves. (kjv) Sos 7:12 "Let us rise early and go to the vineyards; Let us see whether the vine has budded And its blossoms have opened, And whether the pomegranates have bloomed. SS 7:13 The mandrakes give a smell, and at our gates are all manner of pleasant fruits, new and old, which I have laid up for thee, O my beloved.(kjv) Sos 7:13 "The mandrakes have given forth fragrance; And over our doors are all choice fruits, Both new and old, Which I have saved up for you, my beloved. SS 8:1 O that thou wert as my brother, that sucked the breasts of my mother! when I should find thee without, I would kiss thee; yea, I should not be despised. (kjv) Sos 8:1 "Oh that you were like a brother to me Who nursed at my mother's breasts. If I found you outdoors, I would kiss you; No one would despise me, either. SS 8:2 I would lead thee, and bring thee into my mother's house, who would instruct me: I would cause thee to drink of spiced wine of the juice of my pomegranate. (kjv) Sos 8:2 "I would lead you and bring you Into the house of my mother, who used to instruct me; I would give you spiced wine to drink from the juice of my pomegranates. SS 8:4 I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, until he please. (kjv) Sos 8:4 "I want you to swear, O daughters of Jerusalem, Do not arouse or awaken my love Until she pleases." SS 8:5 Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved? I raised thee up under the apple tree: there thy mother brought thee forth: there she brought thee forth that bare thee. (kjv) Sos 8:5 "Who is this coming up from the wilderness Leaning on her beloved?"" Beneath the apple tree I awakened you; There your mother was in labor with you, There she was in labor and gave you birth. Sol|8|5|τίς αὕτη ἡ ἀναβαίνουσα λελευκανθισμένη ἐπιστηριζομένη ἐπὶ τὸν ἀδελφιδὸν αὐτῆς ὑπὸ μῆλον ἐξήγειρά σε ἐκεῖ ὠδίνησέν σε ἡ μήτηρ σου ἐκεῖ ὠδίνησέν σε ἡ τεκοῦσά σου
