There are a ton of sensor and computer differences from the 89 to the 96. As far as mechanicals they're close but still not exactly the same. COLUCCI" Subject: xj: The Light Is On Greetings To The XJ World! I have been having trouble with the USS Cherokee and right turns, sense I brought it home a few months back. Right after coming home the front right turn signal indicator went out. It caused the dash mounted right turn indicator to glow even when the signal was turned off; but only when the headlights were on, would the indicator glow. So I replaced the bulb out front. That made the light out front work and the glowing indicator on the dash to stop its persistent glow. Well last week the dash indicator came on again. So I decided that it might be the lamp socket that the bulb out front connected into, causing the problem. So I check and sure enough one of the wires going into the socket was no longer making a good connection. So I knew that the dealer would want me to replace the entire wire harness; to expensive. So I was going to have to modify something from Advance Auto Parts; and just kind of make it fit. Well the fellow behind the counter asked if he could help. I told him I needed a parking / turn signal socket with a three wire connection for the front of my rig. He asked what type of vehicle. I told him. I thought I had slipped into some strange FSJ dimension. The guy behind the counter said, "We just don't stock parts for those; why couldn't you own a chevy?" (Because I'm not that stupid to own one of those was what I was thinking;) but instead I told him to show me to their socket isle. I was sure I could find something that I could make fit. ...And I thought the "I can make it fit thing" only applied to FSJ ownership. Anyway the guy says here is a three wire tail light socket for a ford; but it will be to large for your application. I said let me see that thing. He said you don't want it. It is for a tail light on a ford. You will have to do a lot of cutting of things to make that fit. It told him I did not care; just take my money. I liked the looks of the thing. It looked similar to what was already there. Once back in my shop I found out how similar it really was; and how right my hunch had been. Not only was it the exact same socket. It even had the correct wire color codes. What a deal!! So for those who want one or two front turn signal / parking light replacement sockets of your own; you can get a Niehoff #PS35320 for turn sign & parkinglamp on ford products unit. It works great. The URL is http://www.geocities.com/seanbxj/forsale.htm Until further notice, the steering wheel has been sold... if that changes, I'll put it back on the page. Thanks. Sean B. If anyone knows where I can get the upgrade padded steering wheel to match my 87's gold interior, I'd be interested.
