John, sorry about the mess. The best fill would be what contractors call dirty pea gravel. It is a sand and pea gravel mix. It will fill in with almost no compaction. It is often used under slab floors so they don't settle. You will still need to fill the trench and fix the culvert or the pea will wash out. I would say the rims that are in the background of your pix would make poor fill ;-) You might see if you can attach the contractors bond. I wish you well. I^Rm a bit confused about the mounting plates. I understand that the factory bolt locations are used with the plate, but there are also two additional locations for the plate to be bolted onto the front subframe panel that connects the two front frame horns together (basically, the front of the body that you would see standing in front of the car). However, the holes in the body are too small to pass bolts thru, they appear to be a deliberate mismatch of two panel pieces that are spot welded together. If that wasn^Rt enough, I^Rm not sure if I should use the weld nut plate on this front bulkhead location or on the two forward most bolts using the factory bumper attachment location. Anyone done this before that wants to share? Thanks! I don't mean like Nicholae Carpathia, but my old puter died a harsh death some weeks ago. After many attempts at cpr it flatlined. I had a local computer shop scavange what they could and build a new one with a 1g Athlon, DDR ram mother board, XP, and other goodies for under $500! If anyone needs a good computer guy in the southend let me know. I switched to AT&T cable on Phil's advice and LOVE it. Hence the new address billandjennie-at-attbi.com . I lost all addresses in my address book so, if you exchanged personal e-mail with me, please send to me off list so I can put you back in. Some good news is that I'm getting DSL and a new computer at work , so I will be able to answer technical and manufactuer related questions faster and more accuratly. Just drill them out to the right size, I believe 1/2". The weld nut plates are for the 2 vertical bulkhead holes. you will see why you need them when you try to put a nut in front of the steering box. You may find that you have to grind that side down a little to make the holes line up. Welcome to the world of "bolt on " aftermarket parts.
