A locker on the street, especially with an XJ is downright ugly, even in my son's '77 Cherokee it wasn't pleasant. Tell me more about the e-locker setup. Dana 44? I had a True-Trac on the front of the little wagoneer, excellent L/S setup, I'd gladly pay the extra for that setup. The ARB needs the compressor and can be a problem. The OX locker has it's issues too... Since the locker part won't be needed very often the e-locker sounds like the perfect setup, esp with the true trac setup... any idea of availability? :) Other options? Most of my friends have ARB's and for some reason think I'm nuts. I have a NP242 transfercase and use fulltime 4wd all the time. The Truetracs suit me perfectly on the street and offroad. An electrically lockable version would be the perfect upgrade for the rear. The Electrac's actuator seems a little vulnerable, Eatons new electrically locking open diff has a much better actuator by the look of it. ARB have a non-pneumatic electrically actuated diff due out in 2003. When I've located a D44, I'll be opting for an Electrac and making a new diff guard to protect the actuator. >-----Original Message----- >From: owner-xj-at-digest.net [mailto:owner-xj-at-digest.net]On Behalf Of john >Sent: 22 December 2002 06:35 >To: Marc W. That's a good price for the ARB, typical prices I've seen are about $650. But then you still have to buy the compressor, that's almost two more c notes if memory serves me correct. The more I think about the Electrac the more I like it. The True Trac design is superb. I ran one on the front of the little wag, really pretty cool in it's own right. How soon before we need to set it up?
