Runs great, new exhaust system. Missing the stereo, but wires are in place. PW, PDL, driver's seat base was replaced with mechanical base, pass side electric. Cruise, tilt, etc. Gray interior, Black exterior. Hood shows some signs of clearcoat failure. NO RUST. This is a west coast XJ. Sway bars have been disconnected, have the front sway bar, rear sway bar is gone. Needs tires. He's asking $1,700. We're trying to decide if we should put this on ebay, sell it via autotrader or the seattle times... It's not something someone would necessarily want to come across the country for... unless they're looking for a low mileage bargain that doesn't need any immediate repairs, but a few cosmetics. For the record my son did NOT use a sawzall on this Jeep. :) I think I've finally gotten through to him... mostly... This is a nice clean jeep that will provide lots of miles... My son has decided to get an FSJ... with any amount of good fortune (for my wife and I) he'll sell this and before he has a chance to drag an FSJ home he'll get his ship date for the Air Force... :) pix at http://wagoneers.com/ebay/1989-XJ/ (the smaller versions end _.jpg) john - ------------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.WAGONEERS.com/ Snohomish, WA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold... I've held on to a lot of these parts because I know they're hard to come by. Pictures should explain what the parts are... I'll be adding more stuff as I go along... smaller pix end with _.jpg http://www.wagoneers.com/ebay/misc-auto/ Amsoil filters, bypass assembly, speakers, alarm system and a few other goodies will be going up there soon... may sell my Canon FTb camera and lenses and Nikon 8mm video camera as well... Need the money and the space. :) I also found another set of tire chains for a car, might fit a Jeep, not sure, will take a picture of the label with the tire sizes. check http://www.wagoneers.com/ebay/ for other stuff... have some household stuff as well... I will be selling my JVC 4ch Receiver, Cassette deck and Technics Turntable as well... :) I have a Sony 21" dual monitor (Sun) that I'd like to sell, but it'll cost around $60 to ship it... paid $2,100 for it in 1999. If you're up in the Seattle/Portland area it would make it a lot easier... :) I've got three or four FSJ grilles, a good 360 V8 radiator, a WJ fan clutch, WJ (NV247) factory transfer case fluid, and a bunch of misc FSJ and XJ trim pieces... some of this stuff just isn't worth putting on ebay, but certainly not worth throwing away... nothing is on ebay yet (as of 6pm seattle time), but my seller id is dieseljohn http://members.ebay.com/aboutme/dieseljohn/ email me at john-at-wagoneers.com or unix_sys_adm-at-comcast.net I'm heading back outside to take more pictures... :) john - ------------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.WAGONEERS.com/ Snohomish, WA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold... When it dies throw a timing light on one of the plug wires and crank... if you have spark then it's probably fuel related. check the pressure on the fuel rail. it could even be a clogged cat... that it won't start at all after it dies leads me to the fuel area... or some electronics that is heating up and dying... but if you have spark it'll be fuel mgt related... john At 11:10 AM 10/13/2003, Paul W. wrote: >I finally got around to joining the ranks of 4.0L-HO XJ ownership. Hopefully the air force will call him to duty before he gets to it... that way nothing will be sitting around here while he's off in training. ;) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2437546903 fwiw, this is a good, solid, clean Jeep, the only problems are it needs tires, the rear swaybar is gone and the front one disconnected (can you say articulation?), also missing the stereo. New exhaust, runs good, quiet... solid... reliable... no rust... cheap jeep for someone. Only has 99,167 miles too. :) later, john - -- - ------------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.WAGONEERS.com/ Snohomish, WA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold...
