If it leaks on the inside it runs down across the fuse box. The fluid from the clutch master will dissolve and soften the plastic fuse box and start causing lots of loose fuse related problems. If this has already happened, clean it off as best you can and replace the master. - --Kurt ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 2 Mar 2004 20:09:11 -0800 (PST) From: Dan Johnson Subject: Re: xj: Re: Fuses Heh, yep. I have a 84 xj, 2 door 4 speed, 2.5 liter. I just put 31x12x15 thornbirds on it, we took it out wheelin, parked for a minute, (after having it in 4low,) took a break, when I went to leave, I shifted it into 2 hi, well, I was unable to move, I could sit there, speedo saying I am going 60, in fourth gear, but not moving a inch???? So I then proceeded to put it into 4 hi, so see if I could move that way, and I was. Until about 100yds later, when my wife bumped the shift lever, (4wheel) and knocked it down to 2 hi again, well I heard this "pop" from the front end, and I was, once again, doing 60, fourth gear, and not moving. I figured, okay, new tires, kinda big, to much for the axles, so I snapped them. Well, I dont have much experience in the axle department, so that is why I am asking you guys. I pulled the rear drivers side axle, (main drive axle???) and as far as I can tell, it is fine, so I then went to the front, and started to pull the front passenger axle, got to the vaccuum disconnect, to pull it off, and discovered the arm in there had broken off, so that is what the "pop" was that I heard, and that would explain the front not working anymore, but what about the back???? If the passenger side rear axle broke, would it do what it did to me???? What do I do next???? Trying to get is figured out so I know what to get at the swap meet this weekend.
