It is a command trac model with no full-time option. I am going to take it to some gravel or dirt to test the 4wd even though it isn't needed. It was dark when I look last night, but if she is interested I will go over it and look for problem areas. The 88 I had was running strong with 204K on it and it never failed me even with my 100 mile commute that I was driving. Now three and a half years later I was getting some of the same. This time I just cleaned out the lines and all seems okay so far.... about a month and a half. I have never had any cooling problems as of yet on my 87, but I have read that a lot of people do. I am in Oklahoma, so we do have a share of very hot days. Normally June - Sept.... started this year in April however. The only problem I have had was a TPS sensor a couple of years ago. And now I am having a "stumble" under acceleration. Some have said it could be the TPS, which I do know how to test, others say MAP sensor. I am not sure how to test this one..... Anyone? I paid $1200 for mine with 140,000. Now at 160,000 and driven daily (by my wife). Great dependable truck so far. One set of tires, new vacuum lines, a TPS, new muffler, one motor mount (have the other but not installed yet) is about all I have done the the Jeep. I still need to replace the transmission mount, but all said not bad for a twenty year old Jeep.
