So the 89 XJ has to go, eventualy, then I will get either a J-truck or an old Willys. Ford" Subject: Re: xj: Re: Brake issues It was profit not only in the price of the rotors, but also in having a more fuel efficient vehicle to sell by cutting as much weight as possible. I don't think there are any 'passenger' vehicles sold today that have rotors thick enough to be turned. I still think its a shame that place won't turn rotors from older vehicles that were made to have this type of service. Makes me wonder what types of things will gone in the near future. With auto transmissions being sealed from the factory, will those long funnels still be sold? What about ATF? How will I service my older transmission and my transfercase if they stop selling ATF at parts stores? Peter J.
