They aren't as stiff and bouncy as the ranchos (the 5000s are to harsh) but they aren't as nice as the edelbrocks...but you don't need to put down major coin for the Rusty's shocks and they work as well as, or even better in some cases as "the other guys". The 90 had Gabriels and while they were OK, they were mushy (could be age, I dont know) and I don't know what the 89 had...that was a long time ago. I do know this...when I start messing around with my 96, I'll definatly go with Rusty's... The is a set of up country springs on ebay and I am also thinking of getting Rusty's 2" BB w/shocks. Does anyone have these shocks and can comment on them? The stock shocks are done so I would think that anything is and improvement. The springs and BB should give me about 3" total lift. I realized two things today. 1) I should have turned around and got the Jeep this morning when I saw the temps drop as I climbed in elevation on my way to work and saw the sleet... 2) I need to have my tires on shadowfax checked... supposed to be 70,000 mile snow tires, but I they didn't like snow very much... came up the hill on cathcart way completely sideways... all the way up to the top... what is that, about 1/3rd of a mile? coming down the drive was another adventure... tried to park the benz in the drive up a ways, but couldn't get much past the WJ... snow wasn't letting me go forward. :) very happy to have gotten down the drive... very happy to be home with all sheetmetal intact... john ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ End of xj-digest V1 #2522 *************************
