Only been about 1000 miles since I put the tires on. You can figure it out, by taking the percentage of change in the tire sizes, but I plan to change the speedo gear to correct the speedometer. The tires are about 2" taller the the stockers so that is a significant increase. Roughly 7% increase. I plan to check my speed with my GPS to see how far off it truely is. New tires are about 30.5" actual diameter. As far as the 42re trans. It has 162,000 miles and still chuggin. I plan on a AW4 swap when it finally dies. Plan to keep this jeep to pull trailers for a long time. Will be replace as a daily driver in about 2 years. (i spent years working for a couple of companies that made GPS-based tracking equipment, and you'd be surprised at how 'off' they can be routinely.) you're probably more likely to get close if you can use the highway mileage markers that are on the little posts on the side of the road in most places; they're frequently more accurate than what you'll get off of a consumer GPS without some effort. of course, the 'Right Thing' to do would be re-gear to keep the engine in its proper powerband; 4:10/4:11s should put you in just about the perfect part of the engines powerband again. i know if you just got done getting 5 new tires and the exterior spare carrier, it can really add up. but what the heck; if we were trying to save money, we wouldn't be driving J**ps, right? ;-) cheers! e Allen Zylstra wrote: > I haven't yet.
