(our driveway is in rough shape) In a short while I'll have my 2wd BA 10/5 for sale for $50 (still need to pull it out of my Comanche), the AX-15 and NP208J with D300 clocking ring is already up for $500 obo and I have an AX-5 2wd trans from my '86 Comanche for $75. (external slave) From: Kevin Subject: Re: xj: Re: [db] Daimler/Chrysler article I think the peugeot came down in mine twice, then the third time it came down the AX-15 went in. My AX-15 has an internal slave like the peugeot. I wouldn't be opposed to changing this if it is simple, especially since I'll have the engine out soon. When I did the conversion (in 1998), I made sure to get a transmission that had the external slave. The transmission I got came out of a 96 XJ. My 94 ZJ also has an external slave, so 1993 is probably about right for the end of the internal slave. I'm not sure if there is a way to convert an internal slave to external on the AX-15 though. I would guess probably not ... and would require finding a newer model transmission. - -doug >I thought I read somewhere that around 1993 they abandoned the internal slave >for an external slave cylinder.
