Then we went into the shop and did some work on the '91 Grand Wagoneer... the pictures are in my camera, it's about 11pm, might get them out tomorrow... (they'll go here: http://wagoneers.com/fotos/2007/12-Dec-22-Rambo-n-Omega ) progress is being made... engine is in, oil/trans coolers in place, the aux tank is in with the filler! Curtis did a very nice job of plumbing it in, setting up dual battery trays under the body off the frame, dual fuel filters on the frame rails under the driver's door and another Racor under the hood, along with the stock filter on the back of the engine. A servo control fuel selector is also frame mounted... will add nerf bars and a removeable skid plate to protect all this stuff... the 3" body lift helps a lot. I'm going back down in my '91 300D Thurs or Friday to help with wiring and plumbing so we can get it out of his shop.... Lots of detail work is being done... water pump needs to be replaced so we can hook up the heater... fuel lines, throttle linkage, under hood wiring, neutral safety switch and so on... I'm going to leave the J10 down there for awhile, it's out of his way and under tarps... all we need to do is bolt the bed on and I could trailer it home. So Rambo is home, sitting in front of my carport... needs a parking brake setup, a new clutch and some sort of power steering pump, which is almost impossible to do because the 232 has no place to mount brackets... :( Have the back doors right by the carport... thinking I'll just put better roofing material on the carport and extend it in the back rather than completely redo the whole thing... we'll see... The '99 WJ towed the 20' long 10K flatbed home without too much trouble, however we didn't get the '67 J100 far enough on the trailer... it looked like we had just enough weight on the back end, but really didn't, so it got weird over 45 to 50mph... so we came up I-5 at 40 to 45mph... better safe than sorry. :) I don't like having my trailer determine what I'm going to do. :) Going to hook up a front driveshaft on Rambo if I have one... but the steering is so hard w/o PS that it's virtually undriveable... brakes work great, the axles were updated to six lug. My friend suggested an electric power steering pump setup... anyone know of any? well, back safe and sound... hoping to see Omega finished in a week or two, but been hoping that for months and months... will see what kind of progress we'll make next week... hope you all had a nice Saturday...
