Or I could spend a few days in SLC, pull the engine, trans, xfr case, axles, fuel tank, wiring harness and crush the rest or give it to Tacoma as a "gift". I had an '85 like this with the 2.1L TD... 26 mpg in town, 32 mpg on the freeway... the engine parts are horrifically expensive, a piston sleeve kit alone was $800 almost 20 years ago, can't image what it would cost now... I'm not sure the rust is all that bad... it doesn't look like it's gone through... have you seen this up close and personal? think the guy would take a little bit less? cleaning it up and using it would make more sense than a transplant if possible... these things are gutless... 0 to 60 in about 20 seconds, incapable of towing anything more than maybe 2,000lbs and then with a lot of effort... timing belt... FRENCH engine = EXPENSIVE parts... lots of o-rings that like to leak... (note to self: keep talking john... you're almost free of this temptation... ;) here's a family foto I took on Saturday. :) (My daughter came home and then her and my wife took off in the Diesel Benz and she asked me to wash her jeep... so I washed her's and my wife's... but not mine... hmmmm... how did that happen? ;) http://wagoneers.com/FSJ/Omega/Family-foto-31-MAY-2008/ ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://wagoneers.com john's 6.2L GW: http://wagoneers.com/FSJ/Omega/ SAVE FUEL use AMSOIL Synthethics: http://wagoneers.com/AMSOIL - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- On Mon, 2 Jun 2008, Tacoma White wrote: # Not mine, and the floorboards are rusted, so it's a flimsy tin can, but the # motor runs !!! hahahah # # anyway.
