Do the same diagram as the one below but remove the original wire from the starter and hook the blue colored line to where the original went and add a fuse to the 12VDC power coming in. The only relays I know of are in a box on the passenger side fender well. There are about six of them, one is the starter relay. I took one from the AC relay and placed it in the starter relay slot (they are all the same) but the problem continued. Jump the 4gauage wire to the (18gauge?) wire and see if the starter clicks and stays on. If it remains on when your jumper wire is removed, then we "should" find that the solenoid needs a good internal cleaning or needs to be replaced. Since it's the starter is brand new one I am going to try and get them to replace it. Advance is usually pretty good about taking defective stuff back. I just wish I didn't have to take that thing back off the jeep. Not real easy to get to.
