OT ZJ Napa only had the rears in stock so I got them on this weekend. No more clunking and the handling is much better. The rubber bushings on the bottom of the old rear shocks were coming apart allowing the shock housing to clunk of the lower mounts. The fronts are suppose to be in today. Ride is fine. I noticed alot less body roll in the curves. I think with the new fronts this thing will be transformed into a whole new tractor. I think the battery is failing... :( Two yards of gravel weighs 2.5 tons, the trailer weighs a ton... so the Blazer was pulling 3.5 tons (7,000lbs), and it weighs 5,800lbs... nearly 3 tons... 6.5 tons moved about by 6.5 Liters of Diesel... . anyway, still have siding, some blocking, and cleanup left, but within a weekend or two from having the carport ready to drag my '83 J10 stepside home... looking at various options for powertrains... (hence the need for popcorn... ;) The '83 J10 stepside has no engine right now... and I'm actually thinking about creating a Diesel powered XJ or WJ... soooo... if I can find an XJ or a WJ that has a TAN LEATHER interior and a FACTORY SUNROOF for a reasonable price... (are you with me so far?) I could pull the stinky gas engine out of it and put it in the J10... if I go with the WJ it'd be that super sweet, but stinky thirsty 4.7L V8... best V8 I've ever owned... and that would make superdawg pretty super... if I get an XJ I'd end up with a nice 4.0L for it... either way, either swap would make Superdawg a nice rig, not a Diesel, but for running around hauling WVO just fine... or quite saleable if I decided to part with him... if the Diesel conversion didn't work in the WJ or XJ I'd have learned more about why and could possibly take that knowledge and move that engine into SuperDawg... we'll see... all ideas are subject to change without notice... :) If I can find a nice 2.5 or 3.0L Mercedes Turbo Diesel (timing chain, hydraulic lifters, bosch cam type injection pump) I'd drop that in the WJ or XJ... so far I've seen only one WJ candidate, can't afford it, so don't start the popcorn yet... ;) there is a nice '96 xj out there with tan leather, but no sunroof... we'll see... nothing definite yet... taking the path of least resistance, more or less... ;) (my wife and son are just telling me to keep my Blazer and quit with the swaps already... ;) who knows... I may just listen to them, but then I'll be bored and start watching too much tv and get in trouble for that too... just can't seem to make everyone happy. ;) first step is to finish the carport, then get superdawg home... will keep my eyes open for a 4.2, 4.0, 4.7, 6.2, 6.5, 2.5 or 3.0 for the J10... all kinds of options... who knows, maybe I'll even use a boat anchor amc 360, getting superdawg running and useable is the primary goal... his sabbatical is soon to be over... enjoy the pictures. john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold SAVE fuel: use synthetics: http://www.AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 SAVE power: use LINUX: http://johnmeister.com/tmcp.pdf http://wagoneers.com http://gunbanobama.com/ http://freegift.com - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ End of xj-digest V1 #2887 *************************
