Your insurance policy is going to specify how your reimbursement amount will be calculated. Most policies will use Kelly Blue Book value unless you have a policy with a higher deductible that will cover accessories or replacement value. > Do they also cover the contents? Again, that'll be specified in your policy, but usually, no. That coverage is usually provided in your Home Owner's Insurance, or if you rent, through your Renter's Insurance. I encourage anyone who doesn't have Home Owner's or Renter's Insurance to investigate Renter's Insurance. It's usually very cheap and has surprisingly good coverage. Ed and John are right about dealing with the Insurance Company. It's in their interest to pay you as little as possible. If you want a daily with no bigger than 30 inch tires, the low pinion change in 99.5 or so won't hose you up. The distributor- less setup is cool in those, but comes with the 331 head that I recently got to replace both the head AND the weak cast block it came with due to both being cracked on a 2000 XJ. If there is a silver lining, the thing got 21 mpg from San Diego to Vegas and back with my brother's heavy foot, so I guess that's not TOO bad. Supposedly the face lift (97?) brought a stiffer uniframe setup, and certainly brought a major change in the interior. Personally, I hate it. There's less room, it feels more cramped, the gauges aren't necessarily any better or easier to read... but those are opinions and I have yet to find real proof that they did beef them up. I will say my trail beater 93 has had the snot wheeled out of it, and flexed out on a rock it will still open and then close both doors and the back hatch. Seems strong enough for me. John's spent a lot more time around the face lifted ones, he's a better one to ask. The only reason I don't totally loathe my brother's 2000 is the painted (sport) grille looks cool, and the 29 spline 8.25 out back is just about impossible to break with 33s, and solid with 35s. Be warned, most of these don't have them. On Fri, Apr 10, 2009 at 07:42:08PM -0500, David Bierschank wrote: > I have started to look around to see what is on the market as a > replacement.
