What a complete waste of valuable internet web space and bandwidth... Since I buy all my cars used, and price is more important than the color of the car, I would say that this is completly bogus. My current stable of vehicles includes 3 cherokees (white Cherokee Sport, Green JGC, and a wood panel/grey Wagoneer LTD) a Green Sebring and a Green Cutlass 442 convertible. Hmmm, Green seems to be a predominant color...and I have little to no concern for the ecology. You need to check with Snohomish or Monroe NAPA. Ours doesn't do paint that isn't in a rattle can other than the common pre-mixed quarts of white, black and grey. Offhand I'd say it's AMC Beige. (there is a LONG thread on that on the AMC-list that went for almost a year!) From: diesel john Subject: xj: Re: [CJ-10List] Re: what color for the tug? - - -J- the consensus is this is a great color! What's the NAPA code? :) it is very nice looking, have any larger images? I'm looking through other pictures in that directory, but they're all thumbnail sized... :) http://jeepsunlimited.com/storyimages/NewProjectPics230.jpg http://jeepsunlimited.com/storyimages/NewProjectPics229.jpg http://jeepsunlimited.com/storyimages/NewProjectPics232.jpg the fact that it's a flat encourages me to spray it myself, maybe even from a rattle can... hurry up, find that napa code. :) I'll run out and do it this weekend... can't be any worse than what I have now. :) I need to finish the tug project up, getting very close... my daughter is getting married in August so there will be a lot of running around taking place... AND, I may have found a nice Cummins 6AT for my '83 J10 Stepside... while the tug is very cool, my left arm and the door just aren't getting along very well... I like the short wheelbase, the height and the coolness factory, but the reality is my '83 J10 is a much more civilized, comfortable and just as cool as the tug... so the plan at this point is to get the J10 back together with the 4.2/T5 running 3.54s and get the body work and interior all setup the way I want, then swap in the 6AT with a solid AT, get it dialed in and then sell the tug and the trailer... but realistically that won't take place until probably Fall of 2010. So I'll probably keep using the tug through the winter and spring of 2010... unless of course all the pieces fall in place earlier and I get the J10 setup with a solid Diesel drivetrain earlier... there is always the possibility of keeping both toys... ;) thanx, john _________________________________________________________________ Rediscover Hotmail.: Get quick friend updates right in your inbox. http://windowslive.com/RediscoverHotmail?ocid=TXT_TAGLM_WL_HM_Rediscover_Upda tes1_042009 ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 16 Apr 2009 18:16:13 -0700 From: Jim Blair Subject: [none] The issue isn't with heads that get overheated. the motors overheat due to a flaw in the head (and IIRC there is a silent factory recall to fix them if less than 70K on the rig) I've been thinking about picking up a later model ZJ with dead 42RE as I have the harness and computer to swap the AW4 in (from the '93 I parted) but first I need to deal with ALL the extra toys I have now! I've been looking at a '97 or newer XJ on and off and if someone offered me a trade on one with heated leather seats and factory sunroof I'd give up my Diesel tug. :) fwiw, we've been very happy with our '99 WJs, have had three, two V8s, one 4.0.
