I re-engineered the one in my first Eagle wagon (998, not 727, but same valve body) by putting a shut off solenoid in the line (S shaped tube on top of the lockup valvebody) so I could control the lockup manually. In Elmo (my first FSJ, and '83 Wag 4 dr) I put the spring in that just moved the lockup to a higher speed (it locked up before the motor hit it's torque band and almost stalled me on some hills if I didn't get the shifter manually down to first/second in time) Jim Blair, Lynnwood, WA '87 Comanche, '83 Jeep J10, '84 Jeep J10 > Date: Thu, 16 Apr 2009 21:55:28 -0700 > From: john-at-wagoneers.com > To: joe-at-j-hughes.com > CC: fsj-at-digest.net; xj-at-digest.net; diesel-benz-at-digest.net > Subject: fsj: RE: the 6at > > found B&M 70244 Torque Converter Lockup Kit - looks interesting... > > about $162.00 > > http://www.amazon.com/B-70244-Torque-Converter-Lockup/dp/B000CIGE8W/ref=sr_1_ 1?ie=UTF8&s=automotive&qid=1239943113&sr=8-1 > > > anyone know anything about these? > > john > > ----- > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold > http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 http://creationwiki.org > http://johnmeister.com http://wagoneers.com http://fotomeister.us > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > > On Thu, 16 Apr 2009, Joe wrote: > > # BTW, the 4L80E is a full electronic trans that can be converted to full > # manual.
