I am looking to paint my '89 Cherokee Laredo soon. It is beginning to get some surface rust on the hood. Do you have any prep tips? Most of the surfaces on top of the vehicle don't have the clearcoat anymore but the sides have some. I'm thinking of going with the camo look, painting everything but the glass and rubber. Have a nice weekend. I don't have that to worry about... but I'd clean that up first, use rust converter on it, fill it as needed, prime it with a rust converer as well, and then go for the rest of the job... a camo job will hide a bad paint job as well as a satin finish. ;) ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 http://creationwiki.org http://johnmeister.com http://wagoneers.com http://fotomeister.us - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ On Sun, 10 May 2009, Marc Z wrote: # Hi John, # # Looks good. Open to offers Pics aren't too recent, but it hasn't been driven since I brought it home. No new dents. Just more moss! Tires have been changed out but the rims are the same. (I put my old 33/9.50/15s on it to keep it mobile) Motor: 4.2L (was going to put a stroker motor in, but it ran fine) Trans: Was T5 pulled (ran out of oil before I got it) so I'm swapping in a 727 Tcase: Stock NP208J Axles: D44 front and Model 20 rear. Likely 3.31 gears but I haven't checked. (other ratio for 5 speed rigs was 3.54) Has bucket seats, brush guard and the usual stuff (PS, PB, recent brakes. No AC or cruise) Cab has a few dents but no heavy rust. Box is decent. http://s6.photobucket.com/albums/y209/carnuck/black%20jack/?action=view&curre nt=j10firstlook.jpg http://s6.photobucket.com/albums/y209/carnuck/black%20jack/?action=view&curre nt=j10firstlook2.jpg Debating parting it out (I could use the cab on my '77 Shortbox I'm building) I had set it up for the AW4 conversion, but I'm putting that in the shortbox with my 304. Pending divorce means a lot of my toys are going away so I can keep my cabin. _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail. has ever-growing storage!
