"btw, what are 4bt's selling for?" Seems to be a bit of a range. New ones are about 3.5k to 5k depending on state of dress. The hot way to get them is from a "free-to lay" truck. I'm not certain of what the deal is but apparently there were a bunch of frito-lay trucks that were sold dirt cheap with the stipulation that it could not be registered for road use again... So you got a complete 4BT, TH400, all ancillary accessories, and a couple hundred dollars in scrap metal. I'm not sure where people were getting them, or if they are still being sold like that, but that is where a bunch came from when they flooded the market. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 1 Jun 2011 22:46:57 -0700 (PDT) From: john Subject: Re: xj: 4bt videos, a missing wire, and some trans parts... my son in law used to be a manager at ups... but he didn't think getting a used ups engine was a good idea... I may have found a low mileage mercedes diesel... if I did I'm selling my SD33T and spares... will go the benz route for the next project... john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -o|||||o- Snohomish, Washington - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 http://JohnMeister.com HTTP://WAGONEERS.COM http://fotomeister.us - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ On Thu, 2 Jun 2011, XJGPN wrote: # "btw, what are 4bt's selling for?" # # Seems to be a bit of a range. It has a dent in the box but the rest of the body isn't bad. I also have a spare AX5 and NP207 plus a couple starters and a flywheel for TBI. It goes soon or the scrapyard for the same price or more (I got $375 for my '93 Tercel) Rear is D35 and front should be nonvacuum D30. Ratio is probably 3.73. ------------------------------ End of xj-digest V1 #3287 *************************
