I did the 5 1/2" lift on my MJ with a mix of parts. Front coils were 6.5" for a TJ. The adjustable Trackbar was from Roughcountry (I think. I posted it to the list in like '03 or so) Front brakehoses are matching year YJ. I put extenders on the original shocks. Everything else is stock in front. I have an FSJ steering box I was going to put in (lowered arm to boost the steering stability a bit more to erase the little bit of bump steer I got) Rear was just an SOA (XJs are stock SOA. MJs are SUA rear) with new springpads and redone shock mounts. FWIW, i've also been very happy with the OME stuff i based my lift around. i used the standard shocks instead of the 'C' (Comfort) series, and while it's on the firm side around town, it's perfect on the trail when toting a full camping load (and wife and dog). i just throttled back to BFG ATs on the last set of tires, and while they're cushy, frankly, it felt better in all situations when i was using the heavier MT/Rs (and they weren't any louder). cheers! e ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 15 Jul 2011 08:04:07 -0700 From: Jim Blair Subject: xj: Selling my '87 Comanche $1,000 Not currently drivable (needs a couple hours of assembly. I believe all parts are there) Not going down any further in price (I had it posted for $2,000 if I finished it and got nearly 200 emails) The facts: 4.0L, AW4, NP242 (I converted it to 4x4 and auto, complete with a '90 wiring harness), Dana 30 front and D35 rear 3.73 gears. Bench front seat. It's a red shortbox with white canopy. Tires are decent condition 33/9.50/15s on a 5 1/2" lift. Needs: Trans lines and linkages hooked up (I swapped in a column shifter but I also have an XJ with floor shift for parts). Double sized booster installed (from '97 XJ) and general maintenance from sitting a year. I have some other parts I was going to put in. Towhooks with brace for the front bumper and fog lights. More stuff that I can't think of right now.
