I've grumbled about it since new, now 24 yrs and 300K later its time to do something about it. I was offered a disc brake conversion kit, but it was for '92 and up. I think I also read here once I thought that someone had swapped a booster from a Grand into their Cherokee. Open to any and all tips/suggestions/advice. (The cartoon linked below.) Talked to a body shop and the insurance folks. Around 4k worth of damage, animal contact comes under comprehensive policy, doesn't count against my record. The Hartford is very easy to deal with, so far. I believe I had them years ago and they took good care of us before as well, I think when I totalled my xj while off-roading. Still have some one interested in the jetta despite the extra damage. Will do the math and see how it works out. If I do some of the work I can put the entire car right for the estimate. Will increase the value significantly. Shoot I may keep it and sell the benz if it's all nice and straight and shiny like new. :) Where's that Wallflowers CD? Need to play One Headlight. :) __john_at_http://wagoneers.com__ - -----Original Message----- From: Bruce Caruthers Date: Thu, 8 Sep 2011 11:13:05 To: John Meister Reply-To: Bruce Caruthers Subject: Comic: checking out new cars http://www.gocomics.com/pluggers/2011/09/08 ------------------------------ End of xj-digest V1 #3323 *************************
