Same setup the ZJs used. Including calipers. My NAPA computer shows them? From: ernest breakfield Subject: Re: xj: Rear discs for '87 Cherokee interesting; i can't find anyone who lists rotors for these except one reference from Rock Auto for one aftermarket mfr, and even they don't list calipers,... given the number of errors i routinely see in parts catalogs, forgive me, but i have to remain skeptical. can you provide any other info on this alleged option or parts involved? for example, which axle; D35 or ChryCo? ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 12 Sep 2011 22:39:53 +0000 From: john Subject: xj: Fw: Too much time Stomp finds Jeep. :) - ------Original Message------ From: T.Halmshaw To: J Subject: To much time Sent: Sep 12, 2011 08:01 Check this out, boy I wish i had nothing better to do then create this crap, but at least there's a Jeep in it :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFybwg4wadI __john_at_http://wagoneers.com__ ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 12 Sep 2011 21:22:59 -0700 (PDT) From: john Subject: xj: road trip, parts, deer slaying and decisions went on a little road trip last week while our floors were being refinished... link to pictures below sig file... we got as far as spokane... hit a deer on SR21 between Wilber and Odessa, WA... out in the middle of no where... the '03 Jetta wagon nailed a deer at 50mph, spun the deer around so the doe hit the side of the car... it hobbled off about 40 feet maybe and died... need a hood, fender and headlight, and maybe a mirror... impressed by the jetta... direct hit at 50mph and the hood and doors still work and only thing broken was the headlight... ...had the jetta for sale and people standing in line... having 2nd thoughts... I found some parts, heading to pick them up tomorrow... with the insurance money I can fix all the damage and make it completely whole... ...just got the '87 300D out of the shop after getting all new Bilsteins all the way around, front end alignment, wheel bearings, new serpentine belt and so on... timing chain is good... so with the new rad, euro lights, stereo, alarm and a/c repair and this work I've dumped almost 3k into this beauty... ...topped it off tonight and it only go 21mpg, but a lot of that was time spent in the shop getting the a/c charged and test drives... first tank was 25mpg... but even if it gets the anticipated 26-30mph in town with that 3.0L turbo Diesel that's still a long way from the 40mpg the TDI gets... it lacks some of the nice features of the jetta, mainly in the electronics realm... so I'm trying to decide what to do... fix and keep the jetta or fix and sell the jetta, or sell the 300D... I got a good deal on the 300D, so even with the repairs and original price if I sold for full retail I'd be ok... I think... all this started because my wife wanted to refinish the oak floors... we did and they got the color wrong... argghhhhh... maybe I should sell both the Jetta and the 300D and just buy a nice TJ and live with the horrible fuel economy... :) Of course if curtis ever gets superdawg painted I'll have at least one decent vehicle... :) oh, on the way home I think I killed a possum... or something fell off the 300D... so in the last week I've taken out a squirrel, a deer and a possum... look out little critters... I'm heading your way... john - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -o|||||o- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ vehicle city/hwy engine/trans/xfr - ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2003 VW Jetta GLS Wagon TDI 40/48 mpg 1.9L TDI/5spd 2002 VW Jetta GLS Sedan TDI 28/45 mpg 1.9L TDI/AT 1987 Mercedes 300D 25/35 mpg 3.0L TD/AT 1983 Jeep J10 long box (SJ) 8/15 mpg 5.9L AT/NP208 (best mpg 17.68) - ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1983 Jeep J10 Stepside (SJ) (Superdawg)- under construction since 1999 getting '80 Scout SD33T Diesel, TF727/NP208 mpg: 20/24 expected -o|||||o- http://wagoneers.com/johns-vehicles.html - ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 si vis pacem, para bellum http://johnmeister.com http://wagoneers.com http://fotomeister.us ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -o|||||o- fahrvergnugen y'all - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ http://fotomeister.us/2011/09-Sep-06-floors-flowers-wheels/ALL.html http://fotomeister.us/2011/09-Sep-07-CascadeLoop-deer-damage-mac/ALL.html http://fotomeister.us/2011/09-Sep-08-JettaWagon-deer-damage-from7sep2011-9pm/ALL.html http://fotomeister.us/2011/09-Sep-08-Spokane/ALL.html http://fotomeister.us/2011/09-Sep-09-spokane-seattle-found-deer/ALL.html http://fotomeister.us/2011/09-Sep-09-NightShotsElliottBay/ALL.html http://fotomeister.us/2011/09-Sep-10-Seattle-Waterfront-Downtown-homeGarden/ALL.html http://fotomeister.us/2011/09-Sep-11-Seattle/ALL.html - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ here's pictures of the deer if you're into coyote chewed gore: http://wagoneers.com/tmp/.spokane/09-Sep-09-spokane-to-seattle/JM7_3957_2011.09.09.jpg http://wagoneers.com/tmp/.spokane/09-Sep-09-spokane-to-seattle/JM7_3961_2011.09.09.jpg http://wagoneers.com/tmp/.spokane/09-Sep-09-spokane-to-seattle/JM7_3962_2011.09.09.jpg http://wagoneers.com/tmp/.spokane/09-Sep-09-spokane-to-seattle/JM7_3960_2011.09.09.jpg http://wagoneers.com/tmp/.spokane/09-Sep-09-spokane-to-seattle/JM7_3964_2011.09.09.jpg ------------------------------ End of xj-digest V1 #3325 *************************
