Here's a tidibit I was not aware of. "C W McCall" is the pseudonym for a gent named Bill Fries Jr. and I'm sure most of you older guys on the list know who CW was. Convoy, Wolfcreek Pass, Black Bear Road, etc. What I didn't know was that Bill was friends with a guy named Chip Davis. Bill wrote lyrics, and his friend Chip wrote the music. So what's Chip Davis doing nowadays? Well Chip is also the creator of the musical group Mannheim Steamroller. Country to Classical. Pretty talented. Would never have thought that.... Oh and here's the part that isn't TOTALLY off topic... Bill Fries was elected mayor of Ouray, Colorado serving from 1986 to 1992! - -- ...and I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consiousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice... - ---------------------------------------------------------- Registered Linux user #287453 ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 9 Dec 2011 11:36:24 -0800 (PST) From: john Subject: Re: xj: Not TOTALLY off topic... cool. have a picture of my jeep at the entrance to Black Bear Road... :) john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -o|||||o- fahrvergnugen y'all Snohomish, Washington - where Jeeps and VWs don't rust, they mold http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 TRSTGZS http://JohnMeister.com HTTP://WAGONEERS.COM http://fotomeister.us - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ On Fri, 9 Dec 2011, JeepNut wrote: # Here's a tidibit I was not aware of. # # "C W McCall" is the pseudonym for a gent named Bill Fries Jr. and I'm sure # most of you older guys on the list know who CW was. Have heard you can take the back bumper off to get to the screws, that doesn't sound right to me. I'm thinking of cutting an opening through the plastic cover to access the mechanism and then patching it or replacing it. Need advice/ideas and pictures. :) Thanx John __john_at_http://wagoneers.com__ ------------------------------ End of xj-digest V1 #3337 *************************
