My sister and bil live a block from the coast in cocoa beach, called them the day sandy was there, they had lots of beach erosion there as well. The didn't get hit there. I drove through david in 79 out of orlando. And then got to enjoy it again a few days later in georgia. Have been through at least three hurricanes, several tornadoes, blizzards, earthquakes, floods, sinkholes, forest fires, terrorist attacks in europe and a few riot areas. It's amazing how little it takes to wipe out what we've done. A lot easier to destroy than to build. Have heard from folks on either side of the worst of things. The area impacted was very widespread. John - ------Original Message------ From: Don Hansen Sender: owner-xj@digest.net To: xj ReplyTo: xj Subject: xj: Re: Sandy? Not a lot of volume. There are adapters to mate the mercedes om617 in a yj as well. The tdi in an xj should work. The xj is only a couple hundred pounds more than my jetta wagon. A few tweaks to the tdi and it's way more than a 2.5L gas engine in hp and torque. Got a link? The yj kit will mate to a transmission. The engine mounts might be adaptable too. This obviously has the potential to be quite dangerous. Specifically, Liberty vehicles built between January 9, 2001, and March 28, 2003 are in question. As for the Grand Cherokee, potentially affected vehicles were built between February 13, 2001 and May 23, 2003. FWIW - I installed the GreenDieselEngineering Eco-Tune on our '05 KJ limited CRD... went from 20mpg to over 25mpg... throttle response is more linear, less smoke, seems better behaved... not squealing the tires starting out quickly... before it seems like there was too much power right off the line and a harder pedal... pedal seems lighter, easier to control... much nicer to drive... and it makes a very happy Diesel sound now. They have a tune for the TDI... not sure it's worth it, only offers about 2mpg more... but it does eliminate the egr clogging issue on them... john ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -o|||||o- Linux: the choice of a GNU generation http://WAGONEERS.COM Snohomish, WA- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold ...shop AMSOIL directly at: http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 - ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- "A thorough knowledge of the Bible is worth more than a college education" Theodore Roosevelt (26th President (1901-09), 1858-1919) RTB&TRSTGZS - ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ End of xj-digest V1 #3440 *************************
