From aritterbusch@yahoo.com Thu Dec 16 11:06:09 1999 From: Andreas Ritterbusch He's building a extremely common custom-pack: One each side of the vehicle, he puts one spring in stock location. Then, using the second set of springs, he will turn them up-side-down, bolting them onto the existing ones with shackles and a little weld job to mount them on the frame brackes. It looks something like this (use mono-spaced fonts to view): Phil's new rear suspension: ---- ============|====|=========== <-- uni-frame | | <-- U-bolts /------|----|-------\ <-- upper (up-side-down) leaves /-------|----|--------\ / \ o o | | <-- shackles (and brackets) to o o combine both spring packs \ / \--------|----|-------/ <-- lower/OEM (up-side- \-------|----|------/ down)leaves |/ \| |\ /| <------------- rear axle/(U-bolts) ---- That gives your a good amount of lift for very little $$. Good droop, too... Andreas.
