1997 Jeep Country XJ - tailgate wouldn't open
apparently I didn't take a picture of the latch... my son in law was trying to clean it when I was shooting the pictures... :)In order to get the rear hatch open had to remove the two bolts shown below,
had to drop the trailer hitch....
once those nuts were off, the tailgate opened up... then disassembled the latch
...the electric door locks had been misfiring as sell, once the latch was removed it all worked.
