I'm nearing the point of two, major and significant events... concrete in my carport and paint on SuperDawg. However, I'm still trying to decide the correct color. I know with certainty that this is NOT the color: http://wagoneers.com/schoolbus.jpg I've thought I wanted to do a light ivory creme, like the little wagoneer: http://www.wagoneers.com/XJ/xjsunset.jpg or maybe like my 83 300sd (champaign metallic): http://www.wagoneers.com/DieselBenz/Cars/johns-83-300SD/83-300sd-front.jpg This shot shows Superdawg in a darker color: http://www.wagoneers.com/FSJ/rigs/johns-83-Stepside/00june25-onthehill.jpg and this shot reflects a lighter color: http://www.wagoneers.com/FSJ/superdawg.jpg and that's the problem... my wife's suggestion of a darker color, "Black Cherry", whatever that is, might actually look better. I don't like dark colors because they show every imperfection, dust and dirt... but as large as the '83 J10 is it might be better to be darker... your thoughts and color ideas are eagerly expected... As soon as I finish the aux gas tank installation I'm going to start doing the body work in preparation for paint. Usually it is too close (overly rich) or too open (you guessed too lean and giving a lot of hesitation until it has been idled for a few minutes) The annoyance of the adjustement is that it has to be done while the engine is cold and running so you can check the clearance, use a drill bit of the needed size to slide down the throat. I could not do it without breaking the plastic arm... so i did it by adjusting the back up screw on the bottom of the choke diaphragm ... of course the fast idle should be in the 1300 rpm ( specs ask for 1600, but this is too much for my mind. Starts right all the time (knock on wood here) Cheers Michel 74 wag _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. Hey all, How big on tires can you go with each respective FSJ. Based on lift (or lack there of), fender trimming, rim size, back spacing, etc... Let's get a Tire fitment guide going here! I'll start it off: I was able to fit (bald) 38 x 12.5 X 15 super swamper TSLs on my J10 by cutting the wheel flares off the truck.. I think brand new 36"ers would work, but to fit the 38"ers new, I'd have to do a body or suspension lift of around 2-3 inches. Currently the tires are mounted on 10" wide rims with serious backspacing (keeps them off the springs in the back). Any more info out there? - -Mark Graves ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 10 Oct 2000 21:28:54 -0700 From: Paul & Megan Kershner Subject: Re: fsj: Re: weather stripping Not sure if I sent this info to all, but I bought the window wipers for the inside and outside of each of my four doors and my tailgate for the '84 GW from the Jeep dealership. The doors averaged ~$20 each (inside and out), while the tailgate cost around ~$40 (or a little more). pk James Blair wrote: > A: I'm passing this to the guys with the numbers.
