El Cheapo gas with alcohol in it lowers the boiling point of fuel below 165 degrees F. As someone already mentioned, degrease, flush the rad, check your waterpump, and maybe a 160 thermostat may be needed (it can cut down your fuel economy, and if your rad is plugged, it can actually make you run hotter!) From: RFISCHEL-at-osc.state.ny.us Anybody have much experience with the 360 in a Grand Wagoneer suffering from vapor lock. Any suggestions on cause/cure? Temperature was about 85F, 100% humidity, heavy stop & go traffic. Car stalled, had to cool off (did not overheat) before restart. If interested contact Kent Zwick 509-466-8475 ============================== Someone out west should grab this thing. At least find out how much he wants for it. Might be able to get a great AMC for a driver for cheap money. Offer him 100 bucks or so. Doesn't sound like it needs that much. Come on, westerners, scoup this baby up! It has been sitting, covered, for six years. Body condition is OK, few if any dings, some repairable rust in rear decklid lip. There may be a small amount of bondo at the top front of the passenger side front fender. Interior front seats need recovering. Certain parts need remounting (e.g., radiator, carburetor. - it will not run in its current condition.) All parts are there, except for certain ignition parts. All glass excellent. Either restorable, or would make a fine, almost complete parts car. It is my understanding that it has a clear title, and that it will go to the junkyard quite soon if not claimed otherwise. If interested, call Mr Zwick at the above number...soon! He seems to be a very reasonable individual. I think he's more interested in just getting rid of it, rather than making $. (just kidding Jim. ;) I think the issue is getting a output shaft from a TH400 and having it cut down and a yoke attached so you can divorce mount the BW1339. :) john At 04:35 PM 6/5/01 -0600, JC Jones wrote: Ok, so here is my idea: This is based on having a BW1339 rigged as a divorced transfer case because I really like that QT case. TH400 mated to a NP 205 with a drivers side front yoke connected to a high HP (~400HP) electric motor probably with a short driveshaft to allow for the motor to sit in a convenient place. The output from the 205 would connect to the divorced 1339 with a small driveshaft, then the output from the 1339 goes to the front and rear axles. This would allow the following options: Powered by the gas engine (Normal Torque): High Range (1.0:1) (AWD) (205 2Hi, QT normal) High Range (1.0:1) t-case locked (205 2Hi, QT locked) Mid Range (2.0:1) (AWD) (205 2Low, QT normal) Mid Range (2.0:1) t-case locked (205 2Low, QT locked) Low Range (2.57:1) (AWD) (205 2Hi, QT low) Low Range (2.57:1) t-case locked (205 2Hi, QT low locked) Very Low Range (5.14:1) (AWD) (205 2Low, QT low) Very Low Range (5.14:1) t-case locked (205 2 Low, QT low locked) Powered by the Electric engine (Very High Torque): Overdrive (0.5:1) (AWD) (205 4Low, QT normal) Overdrive (0.5:1) t-case locked (205 4Low, QT Locked) High Range (1.0:1) (AWD) (205 4Hi, QT Normal) High Range (1.0:1) t-case locked (205 4Hi, QT locked)) Low Range (2.57:1) (AWD) (205 4Hi, QT low) Low Range (2.57:1) t-case locked (205 4Hi, QT low locked) What do you think?
