Before I found the list here, I had the top mounting bracket for the thing rewelded back onto the frame 2 times. Then I found the list. The 3rd time I heard that thing banging around loose, and armed with some new knowledge, I got under there and saw what a mess the idgits who were working on the truck were making of my frame. I took it off and threw the POC behind the shed. I drive like a madman (or so I've been told by a few with weak constitutions) and I have never had any handling problems due to the bar being discarded. If you fly your Jeep occasionally, discard the track bar. Your frame will love you for it. Thank heaven's that DSPO sold his Jeep. He needs to drive a something far more "common" which should fit perfectly with his depth of knowledge and abilities... It was heinous. Left a HUGE puddle when both were topped off. I wasn't able to be on hand for the work, but I have found a shop I am trying to trust. I just cannot do everything. He replaced 2 seals in the case and a shift shaft seal in the tranny. $350.00 in labor and parts. I guess my point is that you REALLY won't know which it is until you get them separated. Unless it's leaking bad enough. You could try filling the xfer case and see the fluid levels drop after a few miles of action. Then the tranny. It looks like at some point a previous owner had the facings recovered with maybe leather at some point. Is there a place to get a replacement bench seat? Or am I better off trying to fix the cushion somehow? And is there a place I can get seat belts for this truck? There appear to be loops on the floor for front belts but nothing for the rear. To make a long story short, this list will remain about 2-3 years behind the times. Since 56k modems are selling for about $10.00 these days, modems with less speed than that are no excuse. Holding down the majority of the list, and most do have a 56k unit or faster today, is simply punishing the many for the benefit of the few. Additionally, if file size is the issue, then limit graphics files to no more than (insert file limit here, 150k would be a good start) and kick back any that are larger than that. A limit of one attachment can be done as well. Server limits are a non-starter as well. I've found that servers run at whatever speed and handle the traffic volume that the users demand that they run, and no less. It's a highly competitive environment. And last, virus are stoppable in several ways, some of which are free. One needs to merely avail one's self of those methods. As an example, I'm a member of another list that permits graphics attachments of up to 500k. It is a lower traffic list than this one, but the content is sometimes significantly enriched by one simple photo sent with text. Another use is to put one photo of a series of photos with a message so folks get an idea of what is posted to a web site before they go there. Anyway, just wanted to cause some thinking on this issue, and add a little color with the text.
