Agree, it's the actuator. If cleaning/lubricating doesn't work, you can replace it with a two-wire module. Search old threads. We recently discussed inexpensive places to find new ones. There is a small coil spring inside the lock mechanism that either breaks or gets really weak & allows the weight of the rod to settle back down into the locked position. If you take the door panel off you should be pretty much able to see it. I managed to snag a good used spring off my parts GW, but I've heard that new springs are available....somewhere & for something. I never could get a straight answer on that when I was asking.
