I have two CJ-10 pickups (and two CJ-10a tugs) that im restoring. Even though they are "CJs", i think that being basically 120"wb OneTonners makes the '10s basically FSJs? Plus it has the inline 6cyl Diesel :) Its just an added bonus that the doors still come off and windshield folds down - CJ style. Anyways, my question actually has to do w/ a true "fullsize" J-2000 Utility bed tailgate (w/ chains). Anyone here have one or know the LxWxH specs for thses tailgates? I saw one today, and it looked as if it was close to the size and shape i need for my '10 ( the tailgate is the last part i need for my resto) I also have an AK Postal CJ8 Van that i will either be restoring back into an RHD AU spec Overlander; and a Scrambler that will be restored into a LLanero using a CJ8 Wagon full steel hardtop. The two "almost fullsize" CJ8 restos are on back burner till the '10 is done though. Thanks for listening and any help you can provide, Justin C ------------------------------ Date: 6 Sep 2001 15:48:34 MDT From: Michael Shimniok Subject: Re: [fsj: here we go again...] john wrote: > What is it with fuel prices anyway? up and down, up and up... From the right side to the left side? Maybe, but I would be afraid to try it! Minimally, the breather hole would need plugged. the pan would be on the top instead of the bottom. But my biggest worry would be that the oiling would be messed up and some parts would run dry. But maybe not. Sorry I don't have a more definate answere! I have never heard of anyone doing it. But if you just mean reclocking it to lower the front output shaft for clearance and keep it on the right hand side, that would probably be okay. One thing to consider when reclocking it is it will change how the oil interacts with the gears, and how much oil it will hold. If the goal is to have a left hand output, cast iron, gear driven T-Case, I would recomend either going with a early Bronco Dana 20 T-Case or a ford NP205. The Bronco D-20 has a low range of 2.45:1 (yes, lower than Jeep D-20s) and the NP205 has a low range of about 2:1. - -brad > Brad, > > JC wants to know if a Dana 300 can be reclocked to switch the output > shaft in the front so he can use it with a Caddy V8. > > john > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- - ------------- > http://www.WAGONEERS.com/ > Snohomish, WA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold... > jesus, don't leave life without him, please! > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- - ------------------ ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 7 Sep 2001 09:47:58 -0700 (PDT) From: john Subject: fsj: Re: Dana 300 thanx Brad, if anyone knew the answer, it would be you. :) btw, are you FSJ less right now? are you still on the list? john On Fri, 7 Sep 2001, seevers wrote: >-->John, >--> >-->What do you mean by switch the output shaft?
