I'm hoping to get it up tomorrow, but I'm still on picket fence duty. ;) (progress is slow) It's only got 115,000 miles on it, but it is a 6 cylinder, AT. :( He'd like to get $5,000, so that will be the reserve. I'm trying to figure out how to word it that if the high bidder doesn't meet the reserve the seller may still accept the offer... if it's close... not sure how to word that. Tony is the 2nd owner and this car has always been in the Pacific NorthWest and always garaged. My '68 Mustang had already developed serious rust by 1972 when I got it from my folks. This thing is in better condition inside than mine was back then. This thing isn't perfect, but considering it's age it's phenomenal!!! I have probably over 200 pictures now. :) Tony came over this afternoon and I think I went overboard again... Anyway, I'm thinking of opening the auction at $1,995. Should I do that or just open it at what he wants for it??? Should I make all the pictures available or just a few? (I'm thinking of setting up a Perl script slide show for all the pictures like I have on my webserver). I know this is off-topic, but we're all pretty much car nuts and I figure your input is probably more helpful than any other I can think of. :) (I did take pictures of my Jeeps and if you look closely you may see them in some of the pictures... ;) The '67 Fairlane in the pictures is my son's. He may be trading it to a mechanic to have the '68 Montego setup with the 460/C6 he bought... I think he's nuts, he should sell the fairlane and the 460 and buy another Jeep. ;) I'm uploading the pictures from today, so if you check right when this message arrives you may miss a few... sorry, only have a 26,400 connection. :) thanx, resume normal list activity now... ;) john - --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.WAGONEERS.com/ Snohomish, WA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold... jesus, don't leave life without him, please! - -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 08 Sep 2001 23:26:24 -0700 From: john Subject: fsj: OT-assistance - 68 Mustang oops... forgot to provide the URL: http://wagoneers.com/ebay/68-Mustang/ sorry to intrude again.... john ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 9 Sep 2001 00:49:37 -0700 (PDT) From: Carnuck-at-webtv.net (James Blair) Subject: RE: fsj: Re: Dana 300 A: Why not get a GM NP208 (2.61 low range) which is RH drop already, and clears the TH400 trans. The NP205 has helical cut gears that drive the front driveshaft, and I'm pretty sure the low range gears are helical cut too. The NP205's biggest drawback is it has only an 2:1 low range (like a Dana 20). Even the Dana 20 is stronger than the D300. An NP208 would be an okay t-case too. I think it was for a toyota pickup, but other than having to add in about 2 inches of spacers on either side on the brackets it fits nicely, looks great. Towed about 2,500lbs with it... but need to strenghten it or get a receiver hitch. I'd look on my web page for the pictures, but I'm uploading pictures from a nasty accident just this side of where my '88 xj wagoneer was totalled in may... http://wagoneers.com/tmp/Accident-01sep09-SR9 the red mustang was heading south on SR9, just like my wife was in the xj. The black caddy cimmaron blew the stop sign from the LEFT side traveling somewhere between 40 and 70mph... the road that he came off of is posted at 35mph and goes up a steep hill before the stop sign. He had to know there was a stop sign there, anyone on that road probably lives in the area, it's not a major byway... The mustang T-boned the cimmaron and spun it around and up the grass bank into the Berry Bowl restaurant bouncing off of a parked "cherry" '40 Ford... but what's worse, sadly so, is the owner of the Ford was just closing the door for his girlfriend when the caddy bounced off of it and slammed him between the ford and the car next to him... the damage to the ford indicates he's in serious condition, the marks on the back fender of the ford show where his girlfriend got bounced and thrown across the parking lot... No one died, the most seriously hurt was the owner of the ford and the passenger of the caddy. There appears to be beer involved with the caddy driver... he was cussing and yelling at the cops about his lawyer as they handcuffed him and led him to the squad car... The red mustang is owned by one of my neighbors, she had a 3 or 4 yr old girl and a 22 week old baby in the car. The little girl was ok, big knot on her head, but chattering away about this stupid guy who didn't stop. I'm putting the pictures up to help her and the guy with the ford. The red Grand Prix owner was just backing into the space... he was totally missed... he was a little bit shaken... had he been back a few more feet the caddy or the mustang would have hit him... There was dirt all over the parking lot... the car next to the ford was completely covered! I'll try to find out how the '40 Ford owner is doing in a few days. I'm pretty sure he has been going to the Saturday car shows up at McDonald's... The manager up at Mc's knows him... >Thanks for the offer but I already have a Mustang that I am going to park >this winter.
