A little tidbit to whet the appatites of the 6 cyl mongers out there! Subject: Re: [strokers] Accurate Power supercharger done?! Guys, Mike has indeed finished his supercharger kit for '97 and later XJ's. He uses the Eaton 90 supercharger with 6lb max. boost. The result is 275hp/305lbft and a 1/4 mile time of 15.2secs in an XJ auto. That's 1.2secs faster than stock. The price tag of $4695 is very hefty. You could get an Accurate Power 4.6L stroker built for much less. For about $3000 plus installation, an HO-engine based stroker with the AP big valve head can put out around 270hp/330lbft with matching ancillary components. Take a look at the "stroker" page of my website http://www.jeep4.0performance.4mg.com for more details. If 270hp isn't enough, you can add the supercharger to your stroker engine and boost output to a tire-melting 380hp! Dino From: Patrick Campbell Reply-To: strokers-at-yahoogroups.com Well this is no official notice because I haven't heard from Mike, but you will see his web site is updated!!!! http://www.accuratepower.com/Jeep/Supercharger.html That is a nice looking kit, and a VERY hefty price *sigh* For the price of the supercharger kit, I could probably pay Mike to do a stroker motor for me and even install it, with similar power. Thoughts anyone? - -Pat ************************************* JimBlair, Seattle,WA '84 J10, '86 Comanche http://www.geocities.com/eaglemania2002/ http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumList?u=13998 ************************************** ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 12 Oct 2001 16:31:34 -0500 From: "Brian Tegtmeier (Mec)" Subject: fsj: weather stripping I have a buddy with an 85 Jeep GW that needs the weather stripping replaced on the doors. Does anyone know where I can get this besides the Jeep dealer? I think someone posted about this before with the part numbers but I didn't write em down. I am rebuilding the engine and going though the vacuum and electrical systems. On the electrical system there is a blue wire coming off the ignition switch that feeds the power seats and under hood light. This wire is of 16 ga and is being fed by a 10 ga ignition feed wire without either fuse or fusible link, this is a wire that is just waiting to melt down. I will add a fusible link on mine. I also run into a problem when checking out the vacuum system, the dual function (EGR, Ign advance ) vacuum switch (I had two old ones and they were both bad) is not listed in the parts guys books, so with a bit of tracking I believe the correct valve is Standard PVS61, or Niehoff FE462 or Borg Warner EC957, It is a special order part from my local parts houses. I hope this helps anyone looking for that switch.. Later Mike D. ------------------------------ End of fsj-digest V1 #1477 **************************
