Plenty of lift kits available... you could get new front springs or use an add-a-leaf. You don't want to use blocks in front, of course you can't really... ;) A spring over conversion will give you about 4" I think... so add-a-leafs or new springs is the only real option in front. Rear add-a-leaf's, new springs or blocks. see also: http://www.wagoneers.com/FSJ/tech/Suspension/ one of the guys on the FSJ list gathered this data, well done: http://www.wagoneers.com/FSJ/tech/Suspension/FSJ-lift-options.html >Thanks! > Ray - Florida >Oh! I'll be spending sunday, tuesday and Wednesday working on getting the house ready for inspection so we can refinance) >when you say cross bed toolbox, explain... A: Mine will go across between the frame and box (since I have a lift going in, the spare 6" or so of space can be of use!) >the highlift over the backbumper and under the tailgate will allow it to get very dirty and put your weight too far back. A: It'll be spotless! The little weight won't affect anything (I'm going with a super duty aluminum rail Jack-All from Canada. Regular price is -at-$500 but my dad bought one years ago) >I thought about a side bed mount, even have the inside wagoneer tire holder that was going to use for such a rack, but then I couldn't seal the bed. A front mounted spare laying in the bed will be fine, it'll be rare that I'll be putting something all the way forward and it'll help center the weight. When I need the bed will relocate the spare to the brushguard. Also looked at an outside sidemount like my chevy stepside bed, but it just doesn't work without carving up the fiberglass flares and moving the filler neck... john A: Fortunately, I don't need to worry about my fenders. ************************************* JimBlair, Seattle,WA '84 J10, '86 Comanche http://www.geocities.com/eaglemania2002/ http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumList?u=13998 ************************************** ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Nov 2001 10:54:00 -0800 From: john Subject: fsj: Re: Thanks! (as long as your housing and axles are usable. I already have new bearings and carriers to put in when I swap) If someone has lower than 3.31 gears in an '80 up J10, I'll swap across for them either the 2.72 or 3.31 (presently in an '84 GW M20 diff) Front axle can be J10 or '80-'83 WT Cherokee (same width) If someone with a '79 or older J10/WT wants a SOA front axle (D44 with 3.08 open) I have one for $150 with high mount steering hubs (from a '77 Blazer) complete with brakes. '84 NP229 transfercase vacuum shift motor $20 with low range linkage; good used AMC starters $20 each; someplace in my collection I have a bunch of '79-'85 wiper motors and the linkages as well.
