(2nd week A: The bolts should be grade 5, because grade 8 will shear, not stretch! From: "Faith Jeff" Saturday while I'm waiting for my "to-be-installed" GM turbo-350 tranny to be rebuilt, I set out to install a 3" body list from Performance Accessories. They sold me the kit for J10's from I think 71-87 or something like that. I confirmed with them before they sent it that it had 14 lift points that I needed. The kit did have enough blocks, but the bolts were a problem. All the bolts were too long, and were measly grade 4. I'm not sure how end play is taken up (thrust washers) or what the correct overall dimension is, but the Haynes manual says zero is correct. This could lead to rear main seal leaks down the road (at the least) - - Landon Vince Orr wrote: > Brian: > You can get a 360 crankshaft from JC Whitney for about $200. No trade in > required. I take it yours has the Willys ID plate too? I did a '64 about three years ago, a 1414 C. Added a body lift as part of swapping out the '64 IFS frame/drivetrain with a later style frame/drivetrain. Bought just the blocks from ORW and nuts & bolts from the hardware store. The body lift was the answer for giving the engine and trans plenty of clearance. The'80 steering gearbox has a telescoping shaft which mated nicely to the early column. On your early style steering gearbox you might need a new dbl U jointed shaft. I happened to have a useable 351w but no AMC 360. And for the motor mounts, I browsed a picture book at the auto parts store, saw the perfect solution in one meant for a late model Tbird, it had a beefy single stud out the bottom which centered up to my frames engine stand offs. You may want to search the books at a friendly auto parts and find some 350 mounts easily workable to some freshly fabricated stand offs. The early Wags make a great daily drivers, Right On with your Willys!!! Al 64/80 Wag Faith Jeff wrote: > > '63 Willys Wagoneer Update...
