I did that with my stroker motor (which is in my garage waiting for me to dig it out and assemble it now spring is almost here) Vince Orr wrote: Brian: You can get a 360 crankshaft from JC Whitney for about $200. No trade in required. Seems expensive but it comes with complete matched sets of rod and main bearings. Says it is for '70 - '89, has center ring on back of flywheel flange and bolt holes in flywheel flange are tapped. Ground and polished standard undersize, none under .030. However, I'm not sure if it has to be balanced in the motor to be perfect or if could you get by with just bolting it in? Someone smarter than me would have to answer that. Anyone out there ever ordered one of these? --Vince '81 Wagoneer '99 TJ ************************************* JimBlair, Seattle,WA '84 J10, '86 Comanche http://www.geocities.com/eaglemania2002/ http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumList?u=13998 ************************************** ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 Jan 2002 11:47:59 -0800 (PST) From: john Subject: fsj: ahhh, that's better... Just had Airport Welding in Snohomish replace the glasspack with a turbo muffler... Sounds good when I get on it, but is much quieter than the glasspack. They did a great job of installing the system and didn't charge me anything to switch to a quieter muffler. Been dealing with them for years. john ---- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** john-at-wagoneers.com via PINE on Linux ** (plain text please!) ** http://wagoneers.com ** ** http://freegift.net ** Snohomish, Washington USA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold. ...and remember, leaving life without Jesus just isn't recommended... - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 09 Jan 2002 23:07:49 -0500 From: mpolkkidodge-at-netscape.net Subject: fsj: Jeep Airs Anti-Hunting Ad http://www.wlfa.org/interactive/features/Read.cfm?ID=718 I am a Hunter and Don't like the ad but look was DC has turned Jeep into.... Mixed feelings about this one I don't think it is as serious ad WLFA thinks it is but it is a serious blow to Sportsman who have Used Jeeps and still use them. I know it's not FSJ Specific But Chryco and now DC have kind of Killed Jeep for me Getting rid of the SJ, MJ, Now XJ I don't know about that I wish the French had held on for one more year to benefit from the huge 87-88 Sales Figures and We'd Still maybe have AMC oh well Rant over Mike - -- __________________________________________________________________ Your favorite stores, helpful shopping tools and great gift ideas. I did hear about a bed in a wrecking yard years ago... but I doubt it's still there... Your best bet is to go to a muffler shop and have them bend up exhaust pipe to the shapes you need, and then go to napa and buy a section of gas line to couple it together. It's very expensive stuff, around $7 a foot. I'd forgotten how much of a pain early FSJs were to fuel up, either that or my '77 Cherokee has something wrong with the vents. I may install a filler neck from an '85 GW, if I can remember where I put it or who I gave it too... hopefully they're not in need of it... :) I'll send this to the FSJ list in hopes that we get more advice. ttyl, john ---- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** john-at-wagoneers.com via PINE on Linux ** (plain text please!) ** http://wagoneers.com ** ** http://freegift.net ** Snohomish, Washington USA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold. ...and remember, leaving life without Jesus just isn't recommended... - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ End of fsj-digest V1 #1542 **************************
