Primarily in the Northeast. This is the first one outside that area that I've heard of. Two possible explanations. 1) the vehicles were made late in the 1987 model year and registered as 1988s. (this guy claims to have bought it new in Feb 88. could be that it was sitting at the dealer until he bought it. It's not uncommon for dealer inventory to sit. My folks bought our new '68 Mustang in Oct 68, the '69's were already out.) 2) the vehicles were government or leased vehicles custom built from remaining parts or part of a special contract and actually 1988 models. Jeep has a history of selling vehicles to governments and businesses after the production model has been terminated. Note that the M715's used the 230 engine well after it's civilian production was terminated. according to JC's Vin decoder, it is a 1988 model. http://www.wagoneer.net/cgi-bin/fsjvindecoder.cgi This looks like a good find. I may try to contact the seller later today. john - --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.WAGONEERS.com/ Snohomish, WA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold... jesus, don't leave life without him, please! - -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 20 Jan 2002 21:18:38 -0800 From: john Subject: fsj: OT rqst my daughter's '88 Buick has a serious engine problem...
