Three FSJ for sale, two for parts. 70 Jeep Wagoneer everything stock. Has the original Buick 350 V8, not too sure on the drive line but it is all original. Body is tost. Engine runs, he's asking $800 OBO. 70 something 2 door cherokee NT. Body is also tost but it is all original with the 258 6cyl mated to an 3 speed automatic and lock-out hubs up front. Engine turns over with the key but no spark, maby bad coil. If I pick it up He's asking $100.00 78 Cherokee 2 door WT. SOA with blocks in the back. Newly rebuilt 3 speed automatic. 360 engine with lock-outs up front. Body is not bad, some rust on drivers door and on lower end of tailgate. This guy said I could have it for $800.00 Engine also runs strong. If I was staying here I would either get the NT cherokee or the WT with the SOA. All three need to be either trailered or a car dolly. The 78 comes with some assembly required, XFR case still out of Jeep. Please email me, I would hate to see these go to a scrap yard. thanks again Jim Kev in Pensacola, Fl. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 23 May 2002 10:57:13 -0700 From: "Jim B" Subject: fsj: fwd: FSJs for sale in FL A: Oops! I had a hornet lose the guts out of 2 lifters while out in the boonies. The motor was a rattling POS as was the car (both severely abused by DSPO) but I didn't want to walk 100 miles home and leave my tools, etc. I was able to get to the parts store and score some lifters and pushrods (I got extras in case and was glad I did as 2 more went bad shortly after) then I took a ball peen hammer (while your motor is apart you can do this with a grinder to make it nicer) and whacked the block -at-the middle of the lifter alley and popped a piece out. I fished the offending lifters and broken pushrods out through the hole and put the new ones in, then siliconed a piece of tin to the outside (I prefer regular black for stuff I work on) after washing the oil off with paint thinner. (the tin was a piece of metal off the rear 1/4 that was hanging anyway) That got me some power back and I drove home at 60 mph (till another couple lifters let go and I fished them out and replaced again) and drove it another 6 months before retiring it to my parts heap in the back yard. Speaking of parts, my son just got the '77 J10 and will be stripping it for pieces over the next couple days. (front is hit, but the recently rebuilt 360 should be okay.) From: Richard Schaefer Subject: RE: Re: INDY I-6 CYLINDER HEAD concept con't I dont' know if this has been mentioned, but it would be REALLY nice if they could desgn the new head so you can get the lifters out without ripping apart the whole damn engine (pet peeve) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 23 May 2002 15:37:20 -0700 (PDT) From: john Subject: fsj: J20? (in Seattle) A: It's green, so it has to go fast! Someone is already interested in the Cat engine shop rebuilt 360 motor (with Edelbrock kit according to the nephew of the deceased owner) but I'm going to fire it up before I consider selling it to anyone (it needs a distributor that someone stole). Someone is also interested in the T18 but I haven't contacted him yet. The bellhousing is 8" deep with about a 4" spacer between it and the trans. It's a Dana 20 transfercase and had a -at-3" lift (blocks and springs in the rear with lift springs front, but one front main snapped in the accident, and recent Trailmaster shocks) LT265/75/16 Wildcat RVTs on chrome rims (one went flat but is probably okay). It has 6 bolt Dana 44 front and rear with 4.10 gears (11/45) The rear will temporarily live in Black Jack till I get the axle shafts for my D60-2 as well as the clutch pedals. The box is nothing to write home about, but it's fairly solid (good enough to make a trailer and I have a trailer axle that can go with the soon to be chopped off frame/box combo) The rear bumper is in good shape (except it's painted yecch green!) The left fender is usable but not fantastic (too bad the RH inner and fender was mangled as the inner was new!) The rad was munched into the motor and the alt was mangled to bits. The motor stopped instantly which was good because the oil sending unit snapped off because the filter was munched against the motor mount when all the mounts sheared. (I discovered that the RH spring breaking pushed the transfercase and shoved the motor back) The windshield was broken inwards on the passenger's side by either something thrown back off the truck or someone afterwards. Apparently the owner had a heart attack on his way home late at night. The head liner is going into Black Jack as well! It has good sunvisors (whitish). What else is there? (driver's door is okay and all glass but the windshield are good) ------------------------------ End of fsj-digest V1 #1650 **************************
