Typical price might be just under $4k ... but I'm cc'ing the xj list to make sure... my '88 wagoneer ltd with over 200K miles was appraised at around $6k last year, but it had a lift, leather, power everything and so on... I think the insurance companies tried to offer me $2,500 for initially... :) john - ------------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.WAGONEERS.com/ Snohomish, WA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold... jesus, don't leave life without him, please! - ------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 15 Jun 2002 22:54:58 -0700 From: john Subject: fsj: tool box... this may be a little bit off topic, but google isn't being much help in finding what I'm looking for... ;) I'm looking for a double lid saddle box that will fit my Jeep J10 stepside bed. It's 48" on the inside... most mini-truck bed boxes are around 52". The ford and chevy stepsides, older styles, have a box that is 46" wide that will work. Two problems only can find the price for one vendor and they list it at over $500!!! DeeZee has the 91795, but the guy quoted me over $435 for it, that of course is with a discount! I found an Adrian Tool Box, AD270 that will also fit, but haven't found a price on it yet. Please email if you know of a tool box of any make with two lids (from each side), preferably steel and not plastic, although plastic will be fine at this point... that will fit the 48" bed... If it does have one lid it needs to open from one side. I plan on covering the bed and won't be able to reach both sides at once... :) I am thinking about modifying a mini-truck box... I have one on my trailer... if I cut 2 inches off of each side and then rivet it back together it might work... maybe... thoughts? I guess the other option is to build a rail system and slide stuff in and out the tailgate... ;) Just getting ready for the August adventure in Ouray, CO... :) john - ------------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.WAGONEERS.com/ Snohomish, WA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold... jesus, don't leave life without him, please! - ------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 16 Jun 2002 08:45:32 -0500 From: "Vince Orr" Subject: Re: [fsj: Re: Re: Rack done, Sunroof in!] I'll try the lube....hadn't thought of that. - --Vince - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Michael Shimniok" To: "FSJ List" Sent: Monday, June 10, 2002 2:21 PM Subject: Re: [fsj: Re: Re: Rack done, Sunroof in!] > "Vince Orr" wrote: > > I think there should be a "worst looking FSJ award" or something > > like it. > > We're way ahead of you. :) We've been talking about an "ugliest in show" or > equivalent for awhile. That will likely get rid of the miss (It has on the ones I've worked on so far. Especially that big connector above the brake booster on the '87 and '88 models) From: "Daniel Beiers" Subject: fsj: Whats it Worth-opinions needed have a chance to buy an older (1988) Cherokee 4 door, 6 cyl, might even be a limited, from a friend for what I consider a low low price. its got like 115,000 miles on it but still runs well. everything works but it has a miss that he just can't take anymore and he can't figure out (neither can the dealer mechanic). he's too lazy to go through selling it and they won't give him anything on a trade. body is in better shape than normal for a vehicle of this age in the Chicago area. rebuilt front end, ball joints, wheel bearing etc. if I drove this thing back to Denver form Chicago, what do you think a fair selling price would be. not looking to make a lot of money...just help my friend out (I will split any earnings with him and but it for more than he would get on the trade) I need opinions quick. I fly out for Chicago tomorrow morning! thanks a lot Dan ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 17 Jun 2002 18:52:16 -0500 From: "Vince Orr" Subject: Re: [fsj: FSJ magazine] Amen to that.
