Now, we have several hundred built and even have people that are making kits to DIY. In fact, two of the guys on the XJ list who've done this have come by with the motors... :) Both also had troubles with the engines. Both appear happy with them though... My son was out wheeling this weekend with his '77 Cherokee and decided that he wants fuel injection now. It's funny how all the things he says he didn't want somehow become a good thing now... :) Oh well, I'm not going to rub it in... too hard... ;) One of the ideas was to rebuild the 258 out of SuperDawg and install it in his Cherokee, mated to the T-18 (which he loves because of the granny low). Another idea would be to try to mate a 4.0L to the T-18, is that possible? Anyway, if we go the 258 route then we'll look into the Howell TBI kit for it after it's rebuilt, or possibly the Weber carb, depending on budget constraints... Meanwhile, if SuperDawg's 4.0L doesn't provide enough motivation I'd probably go for the 4.7L V8 out of a WJ. But based on many experiences with the 4.0L I'm sure it'll propel the pup just nicely. :) john ------------------------------ End of fsj-digest V1 #1700 **************************
