She has driven her 1969 Jeep Wagoneer until it is no longer practical for her to do so. If I didn't have so many Jeeps and AMC orphans of my own, I'd add this to my collection as it drives as well, if not a little better than my 1969 Super Wagoneer with 70,000 less miles. This Wagoneer now has about 196,000 miles on the clock, meaning that she's driven it about 6,000 miles per year. Not only is it a virtually rust-free example of a pre-AMC Kaiser-built Wagoneer, but it's even equipped with the factory/dealer-installed underdash A/C which has just been fully recharged with Freon (she had the foresight to hoard some R-34 before it became unobtainable) and blows ice cold, better than the unit in my personal Super Wagoneer. The truck is located near Riverside, California and I have take a few minutes to build a quick web page over on Geocites for Jeep enthusiasts to look at: http://www.geocities.com/super_wagoneer/69Wagoneer.html (Because this is a Geocities page, access may be restricted. If so, please come back and visit the URL later.) She really want to see this truck that has served her faithfully since the year man first walked on the moon and prefers to sell it to someone who can really appreciate it. It may very well be one of the best pre-1970 Wagoneers to come available in quite some time. I have suggested, before putting it on the open market on eBay, that I help her and make an attempt to sell it within the Jeep online community. I'm going to post this and wait two weeks before going to the next step. Because of her age and her desire for both privacy and security, she is having a local friend show the vehicle to prospective buyers. To set up an appoint, contact her directly at white1969jeep-at-aol.com and she will make the proper arrangements for you as well as answer any questions you might have prior to looking at the vehicle in person. This is an opportunity to own a unmolested, pre-emissions era Jeep, one that likely has many years of service left in it. With just a little TLC and detailing, this Wagoneer, as you will see from the pictures, can be returned to showroom condition. Don't let this opportunity pass you by. Sincerely, Richard Truesdell Yorba Linda, CA ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 24 Jul 2002 22:27:53 -0700 From: "Jim B" Subject: fsj: 4Wheel Parts A: I decided to check out the 4 wheel parts warehouse ( http://www.4wheelparts.com ) in Lynnwood, WA this morning. I went right after dropping my wife at the hospital for an appt, and just before a trip to Olympic 4x4 to get the balljoints pressed out of my flat top front knuckle. I also bought a water-pump pulley from a '95-ish TJ 2.5L, (which is the same pulley as the 4.0L TJ, which I need for my XJ motor conversion into my '84 J10 with Serpentine belt and motor driven fan). They have a pretty cool setup with parts and shop side by side (wish I lived close enough to work there!), and they guarantee the lowest prices, so I got my 52" high lift Jack for $50 and my stainless braided Pro-Comp brake hoses #7215 for my 7" SOA lift for $90.16 +tax. They could handle more (they are -at-23" long) but use caution! There are 2 different sets. #7215 ('73 to '78 GM 4x4) for -at-1/2" hose bolt, which fit the '76 Blazer calipers I'm using, and probably the '75 J10's, and then the later models, (like my '84 J10 had. I'm guessing it's a '79 break, same as GM) have a 7/16" hole, which is the same as '79 to '86 Chev Blazer 4x4. (they went to metric in -at-'87 up and IFS as well) I also got my Road Warrior SOA spring pads that I have to weld onto the original D44 housing (I'll weld the right in place and grind fit the left and tack it, but I'll get a better welder to lock that down on the cast center housing) They also have replacement tow hooks (2 bolt, but they have 3 bolt as well) for $4 each! Genuine Gear Dana 44 4.10 gear sets were $129.95 (install kit with bearings and shims is $104) They have some interesting goodies to check over (I only had an hour to drool) I checked out the 4x4posi-lok ( www.4x4posi-lok.com ) cable operated axle shifter replacement for vacuum axles (they don't make one for FSJs yet, but the XJ one make be adjustable enough. I called their tech and he said he attempted, but didn't finish one) I also looked around at tires (a set of BFG KO 315/75/16 are calling me!) and found a Cat-Back for $100 off a TJ that should work good for my setup. I checked out a J3000 in the shop that was getting Alcan 3" lift springs and new brakes (they found new 12" 5 hole drums!), gears and a rear locker (D60-2 like Black Jack will get later when I can afford it) Then I had to run off to work, where disaster was lurking (warehouse lost a bunch of orders that were guaranteed to be in today, and admin closes up shortly after our delivery truck shows, so we can't call! My wife came by in a "mood" she must have borrowed from my ex, and the car I gave my buddy up in Canada has totally botched paperwork that may require a court trip to clear up.) At least my morning started out good! So how was your guy's day? (almost) From: Tesar Landon-r16884 Subject: fsj: Oil Pump Priming well, I learned this the fun way. If you are looking, investigating, playing with the oil pump, make sure you put petroleum jelly in the gear cavity - stuff it in there - or it will not prime on start up. Also - key - do this with the engine cold - any idea what heat does to vaseline ? It makes it fall out of the oil pump cavity and onto your driveway. and then you have to go to sleep and wait for the truck to cool down, and wonder if you'll ever have oil pressure again, and worry that you damaged the engine by starting it with no oil, and....you get the idea. Actually, the vaseline helps hold the idler gear in place, otherwise it falls out before you get the cover on. Neat to see how the inside walls of the timing cover get scuffed up by the oil pump gears.... - - - Landon '89 GW 360 V8 ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 24 Jul 2002 23:21:48 -0700 From: "Jim B" Subject: Re: fsj: FW: J20 for parts? on Ebay A: IIRC, the J20 only came with NP208.
