Chevy, Toyota, etc... just about any 6-lug rims will work. The only issue, and not a big one, is the offset. I've run white spoke rims from a Toyota. Rims from a Chevy and rims from older FSJs. SuperDawg has the slotted mags from a mid-70's FSJ. :) I never can keep track of what the 6-lug dimension is but I know it's the same for a wide variety of vehicles. Any tire shop should recognize it and provide a number of options. So, start browsing the catalog and see what they have, just don't tell 'em what you're driving... ;) BTW, Discount Tires has always been a great place for me. Excellent service and generally good prices. :) FWIW, I have a complete set of the six lug slotted mags like are on http://wagoneers.com/superdawg and I'm heading down to LA next month... have room in the wife's WJ... :) ttyl, john meister At 02:13 PM 9/5/2002 -0400, Mike Morgan wrote: >Hi John, >It has been awhile since I have communicated with you, I had bought some >Amsol filters months ago for 1990 Grand Wagoner. > >I have a question I hope you can help with. >One thing I wanted to do was upgrade the rims on my 1990 GW, to improve the >look and because the original rims are aluminum and all pitted, causing >constant leaking. Monotube shocks are going in (330lbs of back pressure to smooth the roughest ride out) I plan to haul a fifth wheel with Black Jack (which is why I have a D60 going in back) From: john Re: Black Jack's specs (was Re: How about something going right? Good news!) nice spec sheet Jim... I'll want to see how those springs ride when you're done. I only want to go 4" though so I don't get into funny driveline vibs... right now SuperDawg has about 2 or 3 inches... I'm after a nice comfy ride with plenty of articulation... don't want stiff springs, will haul gravel in my trailer... ;) john ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 5 Sep 2002 22:54:57 -0700 From: "Jim B" Subject: Re: fsj: Check Your Toilet Chain From: "B. C." Subject: fsj: Check Your Toilet Chain Sending seconds to AMC was not uncommon A: You bet they did! Jeep got the nailhead trannies with an adapter ring because GM couldn't use them anymore since the Buick nailhead motor turned out to be a dog (then other companies got on the bandwagon and GM made a profit custom building trannies for others) Then GM sold them the V6 they gave up on and AMC fixed it and sold the design back for a tidy profit. (AMC was to get the Wankel built by GM instead for the Pacer, but it failed every test, so AMC had to retrofit the Pacer to accept the inline 6 by widening the car) Then there was the hideous 2.8L they got instead, to power the first XJs when GM could deliver enough 2.5L Iron Dukeys. AMC got mad and made their own 2.54L 4 cyl by cutting 2 cyls off the then still on the drawing board 4.0L (the 4.0L came about in Mexico, because Mex city is so high, they needed higher compression, and since there were no emission regs in MX, they bored the 258 out and ran it with the 258 crank and poor quality pistons. 282 cu ins. My stroker is basically the same pattern, but with my 0.030 bore out, it's 289 cu in!) Another way to build a stroker is with 4.0L crank and a 232 block! (hasn't been done in practice yet) which would net -at-270 cu in. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 07 Sep 2002 17:28:42 -0700 From: john Subject: fsj: J10 loading pix of '76 J10 that was sold at an estate sale today... the flyer said 12,000 miles... if this rig had only 12,000 miles on it, they were very hard... what's more believable is that this vehicle has 112,000 miles on it. examine for yourself... and know that the steering box felt loose and the brake pedal had the corner worn off the right side... but not terribly so... http://wagoneers.com/FSJ/rigs/76-J10 john - ------------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.WAGONEERS.com/ Snohomish, WA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold... jesus, don't leave life without him, please! - ------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ End of fsj-digest V1 #1741 **************************
