On the SuperDawg project I ordered a new exhaust manifold/header for the '96 XJ 4.0L, it's reinforced so it doesn't crack in the "v". I can't remember what the price was, found 'em on ebay. As the SW OH FSJ Chapter Chairman I get some unusual requests from people who own FSJ's. I have been approached by a young lady who has asked me to broker the sale of her 90 Grand Wagoneer. For the right person this will be a real find. - - 1990 Grand Wagoneer - - exterior blue with woody trim - - beige interior - No John it does not have a sun roof. - - AMC 360, 727 TF Trany, Selec-Trac 4X4 - - Location Dayton, OH This is the FSJ that has been driven by the sweet, little school teacher that you dream about. The vehicle has only been serviced at the dealer since she purchased it in 97 to replace her 79 Cherokee. Yes being in OH it has some slight surface rust on the rear quarter panels, but it has not rusted through, and they are very solid. If this FSJ came down with the sniffles it went to the dealer immediately for service. I have the complete service history since 97 available. LEt me tell you some strange things have been replaced. i. e. Driver's seat power seat control, & rear window wiper switch are just a couple of examples of the meticulous care this FSJ has had. Why is it being sold? The dealer told the lady it was unsafe, and she needed a new Jeep. Here is the story. She took it in this past week, because the brake system warning light was coming on. Dealer determined that the rear brake line had rusted out next to the fuel tank. The dealer removed the fuel tank and said, "we can not put this tank up here; this frame rail has rust on it." I have seen the frame rail. It is solid, but does have some pin holes in it. This can easily be fixed with the Dr. Rust kit that I can supply you with for $150; since I am the Ohio factory rep for these kits. The nice part about the kit is that the mounts for the fuel tank coffin actually stand off the tank several inches from the frame rail so that the mud, and salt can not became trapped between the coffin, and frame. LEt's talk about the overall condition of this Jeep. The clock is currently showing 99000, but the engine was replaced around 40000 miles back under the original factory warranty. The carburetor has had a great deal of work on it recently. The brakes have been replaced recently. It has had a new front tie rod this past summer. The clear coat is in nice shape on the wheels, and they all have their original center caps in place. The trany has been rebuilt, and had its fluid changed yearly. All of the toys appear to work, including the rear window, and the rear wiper. The power door locks could all stand to be lubricated. The rear cargo carpeting is worn badly from a lot of hauling. I think she has a small amount of acreage in the country so the FSJ has been used for many a trip to the local Home depot. All of this can be yours for $3,500.00! What a steal! The parts alone are worth this much. Give me a call at 937-236-6224 x302 with any questions, or to arrange a viewing of this fine FSJ. Don't let this one pass you by! (provided of course she'll deliver the GW to Spearfish, South Dakota by Thanksgiving... ;) too bad this thing hadn't been kept out west, can you say "no rust"? I knew you could. :) I hate salt on the roads... always did, always will... it's so stupid... it can't be good for the plants and waterways either... :) maybe we can recruit some ecoterrorists to lay down on the highways next snow fall to block the use of this terrible harmful substance. :) Any chance of this thing being delivered to Rapid City, SD? john On Mon, 4 Nov 2002, B.
